I spent the next couple of hours heating iron up, grabbing it out of the forge and then hammering it into shape. Or, well, into a better shape for a halberd.
That involved making it flat, as it was currently more of a block. This was a long process as I had to reheat it several times as it had cooled down too fast for my liking.
Once it was flat enough, or flat enough to make a halberd at least. The next part was figuring out how to create the blade and the sharp point. Whilst also keeping it together without breaking.
The iron at this point was just sitting atop the anvil as a thick sheet and had gone cold from just sitting there. I meanwhile, was stroking my chin and scratching my head as to how I should be doing this.
'I don't think I can do this… I can't make the spike and the blade with one single piece of metal! But, how else am I supposed to do this then?'
