Third-person POV
At lunch time, Atsushi and Saya went to the school rooftop with Basuki and Kawah after buying some ham sandwiches with cheese, mayonnaise, and lettuce. They had their own water bottles, too. Fern, Kai, and their spirit guardian are also with them.
"Man, everyone in class is from different backgrounds," Atsushi commented to Basuki, who was from 3 – B.
"I know, right?" replied Basuki. "The Red Scarlet Army accepts all recruits regardless of background and country of origin."
Saya was happy to hear that, but wondered if those students had their own guardian spirits, too, other than Basuki, Fern, and Kai.
Arriving there, they saw a girl with dark blue hair and black eyes talking to her guardian spirit, Balam. Balam was an Elemental Spirit (like Saya and Tō), and he had the form of a prince from South Korea's Joseon Dynasty.
"Hi there, Baek Myeong," Basuki greeted her.
Upon hearing that, the girl, a Korean named Baek Myeong, turned around, "Oh, hi there, Basuki."
"Woah, is she Korean?" Atsushi asked, hinting at the names Myeong has.
"Yes, I am," Myeong said to him happily. "You must be Ikari Atsushi, right?"
"Yes, I am."
"Greetings," Balam greeted.
"Who's that?" Atsushi raised a question.
"This is Balam, Myeong's spirit guardian and a wind spirit one," Basuki said to him.
"Oh, nice to meet you, Balam."
"Nice to meet you, Atsushi," Balam responded with a bold voice and the grace of a prince.
"Hi! My name is Saya," Saya greeted Balam. "I am Atsushi's mountain spirit."
Saya had the form of a kimono girl in pink and brown.
"Oh, okay, nice to meet you, too, Saya."
The three of them sat down to eat lunch.
Myeong had a simple bibimbap for lunch.
Kai and Fern eats a meal of German sausages and some rice and vegetables.
"Wow, that looks delicious," Atsushi commented on Myeong's lunch.
"Yup, this is bibimbap, a well-known Korean dish," Myeong positively replied.
As they eat up, Myeong asked Atsushi if he was originally from the Imperial Demon Army.
"Yes, I am," Atsushi replied, confirming. "Why?"
"Nothing, I'm just asking. Why did you transfer here?"
"Well… personal reasons."
"I see."
"He wants to be here because he doesn't want to suffer hard in that strict faction," Basuki explained to Myeong.
"Oh, okay," Myeong responded.
Atsushi won't mind it at all.
After eating lunch, Myeong stood up and decided to show Atsushi her ability granted by Balam. "This is one of my abilities," she said to him with positive confidence.
"Okay!" Atsushi was anticipating it.
So, Myeong took a deep breath, and Balam gave her the power to levitate from the ground.
Myeong then levitated a few meters from the rooftop.
Atsushi and Saya are very, very amazed, while Basuki, Kawah and others already knew that.
"What?"
"She can fly?!"
"Yes, Balam granted her the wind ability and the ability to fly," Basuki explained.
Myeong then flew around as proof.
Atsushi and Saya are equally amazed by it.
"So cool!"
With that, Myeong landed back on the rooftop safely. Atsushi then stood up and said, "My turn!"
To Saya. "Let's do this."
Saya nodded and gave her power and strength to activate his aura ability, shrouding Atsushi in a blue aura.
Myeong and Balam are amazed by it, partly because they know that the aura ability is a rare one.
"Wow…"
"Amazing…"
With that, Saya deactivated Atsushi's ability.
"See?" Atsushi said. "Cool, isn't?"
"Yeah, it was," Myeong commented in amazement.
Balam said a similar comment, too.
"Thanks, Myeong-chan!"
Myeong then turned around while blushing a bit.
