After possessing the human body, Louis started seeing through the human's memories. With a sigh, he muttered, "I see, that's how it is." Retrieving the blood and body, he set out towards the human's residence. He also contacted his assistant to find a body with significant influence on Earth to make the investigation easy.
Jack was from the Lain family, one of the second-class families in the city. Jack had two elder brothers who were fourth-class ability users. Although one can learn any ability, mana level restricts its usage. Ability users are categorized into five classes based on their mana level, with the first class being the strongest. In Safeland, there were only twelve first-class ability users. Being born without any abilities in a family like this was disappointing, but the Lain family supported Jack financially until his graduation.
Thinking bout the retrieved memories, Louis reached the human's residence. He chuckled at the sight of the messy room, realizing he might have to endure five years in this body. After cleaning the place, he went outside. It was a dark night and it had been a long time since he inhabited a human body. The flow of oxygen in his lungs brought him great pleasure.
Meanwhile, Jack attended Safeland Sector-11 High School. Louis decided to visit his school. Upon arrival, everyone stared at him, likely because someone had seen his confession the previous day. As he took his seat, a harsh voice rang in his ear - it was Ben, known as "Ben The Bully" throughout the school.
"Hey, Jack,"
"It's expected of you to do such things."
"It's none of your business," replied Jack.
Ben's face was full of anger. His body was burning. How dare a powerless nobody like Jack talk to him like that? Ben challenged Jack to meet him and his friends after school. Louis didn't want to meddle too much in the human world, so he agreed. At that moment, the class teacher, Jessica, entered the classroom. She looked uneasy while meeting Jack's gaze.
After school, Louis met Ben, who was accompanied by his two friends. Ben burst into laughter at the sight of Jack, taunting him about the beating he was about to receive.
"Heh, you actually showed up. Today, you'll learn not to mess with me."
As soon as he finished, he throwed a ice-ball at Louis . He was a 4th class ability user. Louis deflected it.
One of Ben's friends chimed in, "See, this is what happens when you mess with Ben."
"You got some powers, heh. It'll be even more fun to kill you. If a trash like you dies here, nobody would care."
"It only applies to you guys, though"
"What a bigmouth…. The distance between you and me is like heaven and hell"
"It's true, I guess"
Although abilities were prohibited in school, Louis realized that Ben was genuinely trying to kill Jack. Not wanting to use his powers, Louis attempted to evade. However, Ben attacked him continuously. Finally, Louis blinked his eyes and redirected one of Ben's largest ice-balls, knocking him out and slamming him against the wall.
Louis used his dark power's to control the space. The small distance between them became as large as a football field.
"What's this power? What ability is this?" stuttered Ben and his friends.
Louis calmly replied, "It's the distance between you and me. I have authority - the power to control matter, energy, and space."
Ben was shocked. "But how is this possible?"
Louis said, "I manipulated the dark energy. It exists everywhere, but no human can see or use it."
Louis gave him this knowledge, knowing that it would be Ben's last moments of life. A scream echoed through the walls.
