The silhouettes behind him shifted uneasily. If Thomas had been standing in that obsidian chamber, his blood would have run cold. The strange, geometric symbol he had seen on the back of the cards in the wallet—the one he had almost ignored in favour of the map—was embossed in silver on the chest of every uniform in the room.
And had he heard the Boss's words, Thomas would have been reeling. He had spent his every waking hour obsessing over the "Great Monarch's" artefact and the Diamond Mountain. He had never once suspected that the most valuable items in his possession were the seemingly inert identification cards tucked away in the wallet's hidden flap.
