Chapter 72 - Chapter 71: The Long Game

Kira stood at the edge of her domain, her piercing green eyes scanning the horizon. The twisted streets of Corintopia lay before her, filled with her grotesque shades moving in the shadows, dutifully patrolling every inch of the district. She had given them strict orders—no sighting of Tel-Nu was to be missed. The moment he showed himself, she needed to know.

"Keep looking," she commanded, her voice sharp. "He'll be here soon enough."

She turned away from the view, a sly smile playing at her lips. She had no doubts that Tel-Nu would come, eventually. After all, the Sinister 7 had become his sworn enemies, the ones standing between him and whatever his ultimate goal was. He would attack, and when he did, it would be glorious.

But unlike the others, Kira had no intention of rushing into battle. She wasn't like Junna, who craved the thrill of combat and the satisfaction of domination. Nor was she like Cusi, who was too greedy to see beyond his own wealth and riches. They would both be so blinded by their desires that they wouldn't see the bigger picture.

No, Kira was different. She was patient. She could wait. She always had.

"Let them fight him first," she whispered to herself, her smile widening. "Let Junna and Cusi throw themselves at him. Let them weaken him. And when he's hanging by a thread… I'll strike."

She could already picture it—their battle with Tel-Nu would be fierce, intense. Junna, with her lustful thirst for dominance, would attack head-on. Cusi, with his greed, would throw everything he had into the fight, desperate to protect his hoard. And Tel-Nu would fight back, of course, with all the godlike power he wielded.

But Kira wouldn't be in the middle of that fight. No, she would be watching from the shadows, waiting. Waiting for her moment.

"When they're done," she continued, pacing slowly, "when they've all but destroyed each other, that's when I'll take it."

Her thoughts danced with the possibilities. The power of Tel-Nu was unmatched, but in a weakened state, she could strike him down. And when she did, everything he had, everything the others had, would be hers. She wouldn't have to share anymore. She wouldn't be confined to her little slice of Corintopia.

No, the entire world would be hers. The entire universe, if that's what she wanted. And she did want it. More than anything.

She glanced over her shoulder at her shades, still scurrying about on their patrols. They were useful, of course, but they were just the beginning. Once she had Tel-Nu's power, she would build an army unlike anything the others could ever dream of. A force so strong that no one would ever challenge her again.

"I've waited long enough," she muttered, her voice filled with determination. "It's time I took what should have been mine all along."

Her mind raced with thoughts of how it would all play out. Junna would rush into battle, driven by her insatiable desire to dominate. Cusi would follow, too consumed by his greed to think strategically. The others would likely join in, eager to prove their strength.

And all the while, Kira would stay back, watching from a distance. She wouldn't waste her energy in the initial fight. She would conserve it, bide her time, and wait for the perfect moment to strike.

"When the time comes," she whispered, "I'll be the one standing over their corpses."

She knew the others didn't trust her completely, and why should they? They were all driven by their own selfish desires, each one plotting and scheming in their own way. But they didn't need to trust her. They didn't even need to know what she was planning.

All they needed to do was play their parts—throw themselves at Tel-Nu, wear him down, and when they were done, Kira would step in and finish it.

"He'll be too weak to stop me," she thought, her heart pounding with anticipation. "And when I take his power, I'll be unstoppable."

It was a flawless plan, really. Let the others do the heavy lifting, let them think they were working together toward a common goal. They wouldn't even see it coming. They would fight, they would exhaust themselves, and when they were at their weakest, she would take everything.

She could already see it—the moment when she would finally have everything she ever wanted. The power to control not just Corintopia, but the entire world. No more sharing, no more alliances. She would be the ruler, the one with the ultimate power.

"I'll have it all," she whispered, her voice filled with triumph. "Everything that's been kept from me, everything they think they own… it'll all be mine."

The shades below continued their patrols, oblivious to the grand scheme unfolding in Kira's mind. They did their jobs, searching for any sign of Tel-Nu, ready to report back the moment they spotted anything unusual. But Kira knew it was only a matter of time.

Tel-Nu would come. He would face them. And when he did, Kira would be ready.

"Let them have their fight," she thought, her eyes gleaming with envy. "Let them think they can stop him. And when they fail, I'll take everything."

Her thoughts drifted to the other members of the Sinister 7. Junna and Cusi were the most obvious threats, but even they wouldn't stand a chance once she had Tel-Nu's power. The others? They were just pawns in the game. Tools to be used and discarded when the time came.

"I'll have more than just a piece of the pie," she thought, her envy swelling. "I'll have the whole thing. The entire world will be mine. The universe will be mine."

Her heart raced with anticipation, her mind filled with visions of her inevitable victory. She could already feel the power coursing through her veins, the power that would soon be hers. It was so close, she could almost taste it.

And when she had it, when she finally had everything she had ever wanted, she would make sure no one could ever take it from her. Not Junna, not Cusi, not even Tel-Nu.

"No more sharing," she whispered, her voice dripping with malice. "No more alliances. It's all mine now."

As she continued to plot and scheme, her shades scurried below, their grotesque forms blending into the darkness. Kira turned her gaze back to the horizon, her green eyes glowing with envy.

"I'll have it all," she thought, her lips curling into a wicked smile. "Soon."
