Chapter 35 - Chapter 34: The Gathering of Power

For the first time in what felt like weeks, Delson Snow Sr. woke up feeling truly refreshed. The weight of responsibility that had pressed down on him for so long seemed lighter, if only for a moment. His muscles, though well-used from the intense training, felt rejuvenated, and his mind was sharp, clear, and focused. He had slept deeply, allowing his body the rest it desperately needed. But now, as the first light of dawn filtered through his window, it was time to return to the task at hand.

He stretched as he rose from the bed, the soft linens falling away as he stepped toward the window. Outside, Corintopia was bathed in the soft glow of the morning, the massive white stone walls and sprawling districts visible in the distance. Today was an important day—the day he and the rest of the Core Seven would train together as a unit for the first time since their evolutions.

Delson felt a surge of anticipation rise within him. The individual training had been grueling, each of them pushed beyond their limits to become stronger, faster, and more capable than ever before. But today, they would see what they were capable of as a team. It would be the first true test of their power against the looming threat of Tel-Nu.

He quickly dressed and made his way to the dining area, where breakfast had already been prepared for him. The simple meal of eggs, grains, and fresh fruit was exactly what he needed to fuel the day ahead. As he ate, his thoughts remained focused on the training to come. His comrades had evolved into beings of immense power, just as he had, but how well would they work together? That was the real question.

As he was halfway through his meal, the soft sound of footsteps approached. Sara, his ever-dutiful assistant, stepped into the room, her pleasant demeanor as calm and professional as always.

"Good morning, Sir," she greeted him with a polite smile. "I trust you slept well?"

Delson nodded, taking a sip of water before responding. "I did. It's been a while since I felt this rested."

"That's good to hear," Sara replied, her eyes glinting with a hint of amusement. "You'll need it for today. The others are already waiting for you outside."

Delson raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "They're that eager?"

Sara smiled, a touch of warmth in her expression. "Very much so. From what I gathered, they're all excited about training together again. They've been talking about it since they arrived this morning. You've kept them waiting long enough."

Delson chuckled, pushing his plate aside as he stood. "Well, I suppose it's time to stop keeping them in suspense. Let them know I'll be out shortly."

Sara gave a nod and stepped back to relay the message. As she left, Delson took one last moment to breathe in the calm before the storm. Today would be the first of many trials they'd face together, but if they could master their abilities as a team, they might just stand a chance against the creature that threatened the world.

He finished his breakfast quickly, his mind now fully focused on the task ahead. Today wasn't just about power—it was about unity, strategy, and the bonds that held them together. If they were to face Tel-Nu, they needed to function as one.

With a final glance around his room, Delson squared his shoulders and headed toward the door. The time had come to lead the Core Seven into their greatest challenge yet.

As Delson Snow Sr. stepped through the massive doors of the Sanctuary, the early morning air greeted him, cool and refreshing. The light of dawn illuminated the path ahead, casting long shadows across the white stone walls of Corintopia. His eyes immediately fell on the six figures waiting for him at the gates, their presence unmistakable. Even from this distance, the sheer power radiating from them was palpable, an almost tangible force that pressed against the air like a heavy current.

The Core Seven, the most powerful beings in the world, stood together once more.

Junna, Dmitri, Eshe, Cusi, Kira, and Cormac were gathered at the gates, their conversation lively and filled with an energy that mirrored the excitement in their eyes. They spoke amongst themselves, their voices carrying a tone of passion and eagerness as they anticipated the training that lay ahead. Each of them was visibly transformed from their earlier selves—their bodies, their postures, even the aura they exuded were evidence of their evolution.

Delson could see the raw strength that now coursed through them, their wills sharpened and their determination unshakable. They had each faced their own trials, endured their own grueling training, and now, they had come through it stronger than ever. It was clear they were ready—not just to train, but to fight. The battles ahead, the looming war with Tel-Nu, had only stoked their inner fire.

As Delson approached, the others noticed him and paused their conversation. The shift in energy was immediate, their excitement tempered by the respect they held for him as their leader. Their gazes turned toward him, and for a brief moment, the seven of them stood in silence, each one feeling the weight of the moment.

Delson could sense their eagerness, their desire to test the limits of their new abilities as a unified force. This was no ordinary training session—this was the beginning of something far greater. They would learn to fight together as one, to harness their collective strength in ways that would make them unstoppable.

Junna was the first to speak, her voice filled with the usual confidence that defined her. "You're late, Delson," she teased with a grin, though her eyes were blazing with determination. "We've been waiting."

Delson smiled, allowing a brief chuckle to escape. "I had to make sure I was fully rested before we get started. I don't want any of you showing me up."

"Well, we've got a lot to prove," Dmitri added, his arms crossed, the sheer size of his frame making him look even more imposing than usual. "We're not the same as we were. We're ready."

Eshe stepped forward, her ethereal gaze locking onto Delson. "This training will be different," she said, her voice calm but filled with purpose. "We've changed. All of us. We need to understand what we've become."

The others nodded in agreement, their excitement tempered by the seriousness of the task at hand. Delson could see it in their eyes—they knew what was at stake, and they knew this was more than just about testing their strength. It was about mastering it.

"I can feel it," Kira said, her voice low but firm. "We're stronger. But Tel-Nu is unlike anything we've faced. This isn't just about power—it's about unity."

Delson nodded, pleased to see the resolve in each of them. "You're right. It's not just about strength. We've all grown, but if we're going to face Tel-Nu, we need to be more than just individuals. We need to fight as one."

The group fell silent for a moment, the weight of Delson's words hanging in the air. Each of them understood the gravity of what lay ahead. They had evolved beyond anything they could have imagined, but so had the threat they were preparing to face.

"We start today," Delson continued, his voice resolute. "This is the first step toward defeating Tel-Nu. We push ourselves harder than ever before, we learn each other's strengths, and we fight together. There's no other way."

The Core Seven exchanged glances, their determination evident on their faces. This was what they had trained for—what they had been preparing for since the beginning.

"Let's get started then," Cormac said, his tone uncharacteristically serious. "No more waiting."

Delson smiled, feeling the energy of the group surrounding him. "Right. Let's begin."

And with that, the Core Seven stood united once again, ready to train as one force, their combined power prepared to face the darkness that awaited them.

Without another word, Eshe raised her hands, her eyes glowing with an ethereal light as the power within her surged. In an instant, the air around the Core Seven shifted, the world around them bending and warping. The once-bright sky of Corintopia faded into darkness, replaced by the cold, dimly lit halls of a place long forgotten by the outside world.

When the distortion settled, they found themselves standing deep underground, in the heart of the bunker beneath Corintopia. It was a place they hadn't seen in years, a relic of their past—a past filled with fear, uncertainty, and the harsh reality of survival.

The dim lights flickered along the narrow hallways, casting long shadows over the dusty floors and aging walls. The bunker, once their refuge during the apocalypse, now stood as a quiet reminder of the chaos and devastation they had endured. It had been a place of safety, where the seven of them had waited for the world to settle, biding their time until they could emerge and begin the long task of rebuilding.

They walked through the halls in silence at first, their footsteps echoing off the cold stone walls. It was strange being back here after so long—this place that had been their home during the darkest days of humanity. Dust now covered the floor, and the once-vibrant energy that filled these halls was long gone, replaced by the quiet stillness of time passing.

Junna was the first to break the silence, her voice soft as she looked around. "It feels like a lifetime ago that we were here, doesn't it?"

The others nodded in agreement, their expressions thoughtful. The memories of their time in the bunker were still vivid in their minds—days spent waiting, training, and planning. They had been different then, not just in terms of power but in their understanding of the world and their place in it.

"I remember the first time we came down here," Dmitri said, his deep voice echoing off the walls. "We had no idea what was waiting for us on the surface. We weren't even sure if there would be anything left to rebuild."

"We waited for so long," Kira added, her eyes scanning the darkened hallway ahead. "Hiding down here, wondering if the world outside would ever be safe again."

Eshe walked quietly at the head of the group, her eyes focused on the path ahead but her mind clearly elsewhere. "This was our sanctuary. We planned everything from here—how we would emerge, how we would help the world rebuild. It's strange to think about now. We were so full of hope."

Delson listened as the others spoke, his own memories of those days flooding back. The Core Seven had been more than just a group of powerful individuals—they had been humanity's last hope, the ones tasked with rebuilding the world after the cataclysmic events that had shattered everything.

"Do you remember how we would spend hours in that central room?" Cusi asked with a faint smile. "Planning, strategizing. Every day we would talk about what we would do once it was safe to go back up. We believed we could change the world."

"We believed we could save it," Cormac added, his voice quieter than usual.

They continued walking, passing rooms that had once been filled with their personal effects, training areas where they had honed their abilities, and meeting rooms where they had strategized for hours on end. Now, the bunker felt like a tomb, the weight of time pressing down on everything.

"We thought we'd be able to rebuild everything," Junna said, her voice tinged with a hint of nostalgia. "We had these grand ideas of bringing the world back to what it was before the disasters. We thought we could fix everything."

Delson paused for a moment, turning to look at the others. "We tried," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "We did what we could. The world didn't make it easy, but we kept going."

"We became the Core Seven," Eshe said softly. "We were supposed to be the ones who led the way, who guided humanity through the aftermath."

"And we have," Delson said, his gaze sweeping over the group. "But it's not over yet. We've come a long way from the bunker, but our purpose remains the same. We're still here to protect the world, to help rebuild it, even if that means taking down Tel-Nu first."

The others fell silent, their thoughts heavy with the memories of their time spent in the bunker. It had been a place of both hope and despair, a place where they had forged their bonds as the Core Seven. They had emerged from these dusty halls stronger, united by a singular purpose.

"Back then, we didn't know how much we would lose," Kira said softly. "We didn't know how much would be sacrificed."

"But we kept going," Delson replied. "And we'll keep going now. Whatever it takes, we'll finish this.

The group stopped in front of a large metal door, the one that led to the central chamber where they had spent most of their time during the apocalypse. The memories of those days washed over them, but they knew they couldn't dwell on the past for too long. They had come a long way since then, and now, they were more powerful than they could have ever imagined.

"Let's get to work," Delson said, his voice filled with determination. "We've trained separately, but now we fight together. We've done it before, and we'll do it again." With a nod from Eshe, the door slid open, revealing the vast central chamber where they would begin their group training. The Core Seven stepped forward, ready to test the limits of their strength and unity once more.
