Chapter 77 - Legend19 Part 8 - The Game of Protection, Or, (Are you fucking serious? Who is going to pay for that hole in the roof?!)

With everyone unable to stop her, she cocked her claw back once again and struck the barrier for the final time, shattering it. She pushed forward wanting to drive her claw right through the elf, but Lucy had switched places with her at the last moment.

"Sorry Layla, but I won't let her hurt you," was all Lucy managed to say before she was grabbed by the dragon. Jaycie had almost put her claw through the wizard, but opened it at the last second!

"Lucy!" Layla screamed, reaching out as well, but just as their fingers touched, the dragon crouched down, stretched her wings, and shot up into the hole she had made in the manor, heading right up into the sky.

"NO!" Layla screamed, about to cast something, but paused in fear of hitting Lucy, and remembering that magic didn't have much affect on dragons anyway.

"Canglo, go!" Mistress Nushi yelled pointing straight to the sky.

"Yes, ma'am!" the green dragon said and flapped her wings to take off right after Jaycie in an instant.

All the rest of everyone who couldn't fly, could do was run out of the back door of the dining room into the yard of the manor and watch as Canglo chased Jaycie.

Layla stood there surrounded by her party and friends as she watched helplessly from the ground.

Meanwhile, Canglo flapped her wings furiously to catch up to the red dragon who was already flying along at a casual pace, having thought no one was following her in the air.

"Let her go!" Canglo demanded, flying up behind Jaycie with her claws at the ready, though she realized she should have remained silent as Jaycie spun around instantly at her words.

The element of surprise had been lost, and the red dragon kicked out with her clawed foot, catching Canglo in the face, sending her flying directionless.

"Annoying bitch! Why didn't you just fly home! You don't even know her!" Jaycie said continuing on.

"I can't let you just take her from her maid!" Canglo yelled, getting her bearings and heading toward Jaycie again.

Once Lucy saw Canglo, she thought she had one more chance. She began to struggle against the dragon, hitting and biting her arm. Because of her scales, Jaycie didn't even seem to notice as she was too distracted by Canglo.

"Let me, is a strong claim from a hatchling like you!" Jaycie said, flying backward to keep an eye on the green dragon.

"Canglo!" Lucy yelled as she approached once again. The dragon was actually impressed she remembered her name, though Jaycie just seemed more annoyed. "I don't think you can stop her, just tell Layla I'll be alright and to find me at future isle!" Lucy shouted.

"Shut up!" Jaycie yelled, covering the wizard's mouth and taking her eyes off Canglo for a moment.

The other dragon surged forth once again! "I'm not gonna let her take you!" Canglo assured her.

Jaycie looked up just in time and sighed at the sight of the green dragon.

"Not like you can stop me, runt," Jaycie said leaning her head back. Once Canglo was just close enough, the red dragon shoved her head down with her whole body, delivering a devastating head butt to Canglo. She was stunned for a moment and in that moment Jaycie flapped her wings to put her entire body into a single kick at the base of Canglo's left wing.

The green dragon gasped with pain and there was a low crack as her wing was broken and she was sent hurling to the ground.

Lucy tried to scream, but her mouth was still covered by her captor, once maid.

Jaycie flapped her wings and made sure Canglo fell all the way before turning around. Thankfully, their fight had brought them over the ocean, and the green dragon simply splashed into the water below.

"Hmph, let's go, Mistress," Jaycie teased Lucy before finally turning around again and taking off over the ocean.

By now, everyone had made their way outside to helplessly watch the fight. Anglo was floating about in the ocean in a daze as she was grabbed and pulled ashore by someone.

A soaking wet King Barrie Ironstorm held her in his arms and delivered her to the waiting lap of her mistress.

"Canglo!" Nushi screamed, holding her dragon maid's head in her hands and wiping the blood from her forehead.

"Tell Layla I'm sorry I couldn't save her mistress." the green dragon said.

"No! No! This isn't your fault! Don't worry about that right now! I just need you to be ok!" Nushi told her dragon, tears falling from her cheeks on Canglo's face.

"I'm ok Mistress, head just hurts a little and I think my wing is broken," the dragon said casually. By now everyone had gathered around the pair, their gazes fixed on them, but Layla's eyes stared up to the sky as she could do nothing but watch her mistress get carried away.
