Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

" We greet our lord! "

The three of them said in unison. Upon closer look the three of them were quite different from each other.

Two of them looked similar, like brothers, both having reddish Auburn hair. The older one was a little taller and more muscular, the other was leaner and had a scholarly vibe.

" You, on the right. What is your name? " Sam pointed at the tall and muscular man.

" Derrick, my lord. " The man said in response. As if contemplating something, he then added. " This is my brother, Daniel. "

Sam was a little surprised, he summoned brothers? Wouldn't their family be worried? He thought, then moved to the last person.

Black hair, black eyes. A bit of a gloomy appearance. He also wore the same as the others, plain white and wool pants.

Sam couldn't help but think of him as someone depressed, emitting ah tired and sleepy feeling.

" Uriel my Lord. "

After a few seconds of observation, a panel blocked Sam's view.

Uriel: Level 1 Worker

Skills: None

Loyalty: 70

Strength: 5

Agility: 5

Defense: 4

Description: Basic worker summoned through the workers hut.

It was underwhelming. It seems that there would be nothing special summoned from the workers hut, only the farmers or resource gatherers.

The stats and description for the other two was the same, loyalty was the same as well, aside from their names they had zero skills as well.

Sam clicked the 'Profession' hoping to learn more information about it. After clicking it a few times, nothing happened, he gave up and went back to checking the status of the other two.

He stared at the feeling a little helpless, surely the other Lords would feel the same as him right? Then he remembered what one of them aside, brothers?

" Okay, you.. do you guys have any families or something? Wont they miss you? "

The three seemed to be at a loss for words. Like trying to find long lost memories.

" I.. I can't remember.. " Uriel said with a furrowed brow.

" I don't remember anything, but I know that now I am a citizen of your territory, and since you are the Lord, I must be loyal. "

So that's how it works, Sam said to himself, trying to figure out the information he received.

"But you said you were brothers right? How did you remember that?" He asked the brothers, who looked at each other with confusion.

"I don't remember anything but that, my Lord. The last thing I remember was when I walked through that door, aside from him being my brother"

" Hey 'voice in my head', do you just take people from anywhere and wipe their minds? That seems cruel isn't it? "

[ That is incorrect. Those summoned in the portal are of the ancient past. Coming from long lost and destroyed worlds. They have long been forgotten in the sands of time. ]

" Oh.... okay then. "

It took Sam a little while to finally be able to think again. Maybe he was in over his head. The atmosphere between the three was a little awkward, he didn't know what to talk about.

'There's only one thing left to do, Survive.' Sam thought. I've been here for a few hours already, a few more and it'll be dark.

" I need to start working on some things. The fruits I got can be used as food, but there's not much. With four people, we should start gathering basic resources. There is one a problem though... " Sam looked back, at the border of the screen dome.

Outside the shield there was monsters trying to get inside. Before he could start exploring the area for food and water, he should find a way to get rid of them first.

" You guys know how to fight right? " Sam asked the tree people he had.

They nodded in response, but Sam thought of another problem, there were no weapons.

" Since we have no weapons, we'll have to improvise. Using the fallen branches as a makeshift spear. "

They started to gather the branches and sharpened them by rubbing them on large stones. After a few minutes the three of them were holding wooden spears. Crude, but it was sharp.

Moving to where the Goblins were, Derrick and Daniel were in the front, Uriel in the middle and Sam at the back. Of course he wasn't going to fight, he had very little experience, and he couldn't afford to die this early.

"Oh before I forget, I need to use my skills so it can cooldown, and I can use it again."

He looked at the three for a moment and beckoned to Derrick, who was physically the strongest looking among the three.

"Derrick, you shall have the honor of the first be bestowed a skill." Dex didn't wait for Derrick to answer and activated his skill. A short bursts of light covered Derrick for a moment before it disappeared.

[ Bestow Skills was used Derrick (Lv 1 Worker) random corresponding skill unlocked. ]

[ Derrick (Lv 1 Worker) gained the skill, Ox Strength.

Ox Strength: Triples the strength of the Worker, allowing them to carry 3x the resources ]
