Turning around in my seat, "Lilly, you know I went for a run last night, like I do every night. Which one was it anyway?"

"Alright class this is Dawn, she just transferred in. Kino, she is interested in joining the track team, please show her around and introduce her to everyone."

"I'm back!" I call out, slipping off my running shoes, and placing them neatly in front of the door. I step into my cute yellow fuzzy duck slippers, and head down the short hallway.
"Hey mom."
"Welcome home dear. How was your run?" Mom asked.
"Great." I say, grabbing a bottle with electrolytes in it from the fridge. "What's for dinner?"
"Curry."

Kino stands there sipping her drink, wishing the conversation she just had with her mother was real, and not a daydream she's had everyday since the accident.
After taking a shower she warms up the leftover curry her elderly neighbor Rin made. It's a nice change of pace from her usual pre-made store bought curry or whatever she's in the mood for.

The doorbell chimes again as I look at my door monitor camera. Seeing my elderly neighbor Rin standing there, a worried look on her face. I open the door.
"Are you alright dear?" Rin asked. "I heard you scream while I was out in the hallway, and was concerned."
"Yes I'm fine. I had a nightmare so vivid it felt real. Sorry for waking you."

No sooner do I close the door, my phone chimes, alerting me to an incoming text message from my aunt and legal guardian.

"Why did you join the track team anyways?" I asked, setting down my bag.

This game of chase lasts for twenty minutes when it comes to an abrupt end by a single question.
"Hey Lilly, where's Dawn?"
"Huh, she's…" Lilly looks around then spots Dawn laying face down on the track.
"Dawn!!" Lilly shouts running towards her.
"Don't move her! I'm calling for help!"
I raced to where I left my bag. Just as I pull out my phone I see our track coach walking onto the track.
"Coach Aoi, Dawn's collapsed!"
"Where is she?!"
"Over by Lilly."
Coach Aoi jogs over to where the girls are, I'm right beside her, phone to my ear.
"Talk to me Lilly."
"She's unconscious but breathing. Her face is a bloody mess, but her palms show no signs that she tried to break her fall. I think she passed out mid run."
"She could have a severe head injury. Kino…" Coach Aoi stops talking to Kino, realizing she's already calling for an ambulance, "I need to inform the principal."
It doesn't take long for word to spread like wildfire that an ambulance is on school grounds and that someone on the track team collapsed.
The principle gives permission for Kino and Lilly to ride in the ambulance to answer questions the paramedics may have. Seeing how they were with Dawn at the time.
Coach Aoi is instructed to follow behind in her car. She is to report back once she knows something and then take the girls home for the day.
While riding in the ambulance Kino could have sworn she heard someone shouting her name over the wailing of the sirens.

"It occurs when damaged muscle tissue releases proteins and electrolytes into the blood. These substances can damage your organs and lead to: death, arrhythmias, seizures, kidney damage or kidney failure, permanent disability, nausea, and vomiting."
"Did she know she had this?" Aoi asked.
"Because it looks similar to heart-related illnesses and dehydration; only testing can tell the difference."
"How did you know to test for it?"
"I based my decision on what you girls told the paramedics."
"Running gave her Rhabdo? Is that possible?" I asked.
"Not running per se, but a combination of physical exertion and dehydration." The doctor explained.

Yanking on the leash, she pulls the fat-man along, The dominatrix moves over to a naked man tied to a table. He's blindfolded and on his back. Suspended above him are a multitude of candles that drip their hot wax onto him as they burn down. His body tenses with every drop of wax.
