Chapter 71 - Here comes the *Boom*

Six sighed as he watched Shigaraki float in a vat of chemicals. It had been the start of the fifth month since Six enacted his plan. He's been careful to keep it under wraps in case someone, or the UA traitor, found out. Though Ayoma was under house arrest, Six didn't take any chances.

However, all the changes that Shigaraki underwent were undone, but his mind was fractured. And Six knew the dangers of having a fractured mind. None of them was pretty.

Six then left after Veronica came and relieved him from watching Shigaraki. As Six left, his mind wandered to how messed up Shigaraki's mind was. On one hand, Six was tempted to kill him just to save them some trouble. But the other side was telling him that he'll be pulling a wildcard if he could make Shigaraki come over to their side.

.

"Six," Six heard the telltale squeak of Nezu behind him.

"Nezu?" Six asked as he turned around to see him and Aizawa walking together. "I'm surprised to see you here. What's wrong?"

"It appears that you were correct in your assumption," Nezu squeaked as he walked towards the lab room where Shigaraki was kept. "The HPSC was hiding the fact that they knew who young Shigaraki was. Not to mention where he was after the death of Nana Shimura."

"I feared that," Six sighed, looking to Nezu. "And his true name?"

"Tenko Shimura," Aizawa spoke silently, rage evident in his voice. "And his fall was organized by OFA. Including the death of his father by his quirk and mental break."

.

Six sighed as his mind wandered if it was possible now.

.

"I'm starting to wonder-" Six started, but was cut off when an alarm sounded out from the lab.

.

Six, Nezu, and Aizawa all rushed the door. Once Nezu opened the door, Six and Aizawa rushed in. Six had his trusty revolver in hand while Aizawa was ready to punch someone. Inside, Veronica was locked in a grapple with Tenko, who was trying and failing to grab Veronica with his hands. Aizawa reacted quickly and launched his capture tape and wrapped Tenko up before he could grab Veronica.

Six, on the other hand, just sighed and walked over to Tenko. With a quick smack to the head, he was out like a light. Without looking at Veronica, knowing that she was okay, Six looked at the containment tub that Tenko was in. On the ground was the vitamin fluid that was in the tub; the glass was broken from the inside out, and Tenko's hair was slowly turning black.

Six made several guesses about what had happened, but Veronica's and the security cameras would tell the whole story. After getting her side of the accident and watching the security footage, Six had figured out what had happened.

As Veronica was checking Tenko's vitals, the unconscious Tenko awoke and started to panic. After he found out that he couldn't use his quirk to destroy the glass, he punched it hard enough to shatter it. While Six was surprised at his strength, he also knew that Tenko had undergone enhancements that even Six's knowledge couldn't undo. As for the aftermath, Six made sure to help Veronica clean up and reinforce the glass for the tube.

Aizawa stayed behind as Nezu left to keep an eye on Tenko. Nezu was sighing as he left, something Six hadn't seen him do before, which worried him. Six then shook his head and got back to reinforcing the tank with bullet-resistant glass that was thicker than before. Before, it was an inch thick; now it was three. The vitamin fluid was replaced, and Tenko was put back into the tub.

Once all the surprise was over, Six took charge of watching Tenko and had Veronica go rest. Even though she was in the lab for only ten minutes. Those ten minutes were stressful for her. Not to mention that she nearly got decayed by Tenko. As for why Tenko couldn't decay the glass before, Six had lined it with Tritium.

|The next day|

.

Dylan awoke feeling light as a feather. Looking down, he didn't see Inko, Mitsuki, or Willow on him, which made him feel odd. As they were constantly on his body, weighing him down in his sleep. Not that he minded it, it just made him feel less lonely. Now, though, Dylan felt like he was missing something as he got up and dressed for the day.

His reinforced pants, regularly washed, went on like a second skin. His boots, now sporting real laces instead of bits of rope, were a comfortable weight to his body. His undershirt, a compression shirt made of ballistic fibers and cloth, was hugging his torso tightly. His shirt and chest armor, both of which were repaired and upgraded by Power Loader and Nezu, hung off his frame without issues. Finally, his iconic coat and helmet, both upgraded by Power Loader and Nezu, fit him well.

As Six loaded his sidearm and nestled his knife where they were regularly, he headed out of his dorm. While he walked, he took notice that the Dorms were quiet. Eerily so. To the point that Dylan thought he was alone inside them. Once he reached the common room, he found it empty, devoid of life besides the robotic cleaners.

It was only when he reached the kitchen for his breakfast. There, on the counter, lay a note addressed to him. As he picked up the note and read through it, he turned around and saw the Class of 1-A and his wives all there with a smile on their faces. Each and everyone were singing 'Happy Birthday' in a broken harmony. A smile, a true and joyful smile, appeared on Dylan's face. He even let out a happy laugh.

As he walked towards the class and his wives, he took in the sight that he never let himself see back in the Mojave.

Just as he went to remove his helmet, they all reached their crescendo and the end of the song.
