Most of the students at U.A. are not aspiring professional heroes, but students from other departments, such as support, handling logistics, or creating tools and devices useful for the hero course students.
Because of that, the response to this threat was not the calm one people would expect.
The students began evacuating, but since it was lunchtime, most of them were in the cafeteria, causing the exits to become overcrowded.
"What do we do?" Toru asked in panic.
"Everyone is losing control," Momo said, biting her nail in frustration.
"That's true..." Itsuka glanced sideways at Allen.
Unable to tolerate it any longer, Allen stood up.
"Stop."
His voice wasn't a shout, but everyone clearly heard it.
As if affected by a paralysis spell, everyone froze.
"You're blocking the exits, pushing each other, and above all, panicking!" Allen narrowed his eyes. "I can't believe these are U.A. students. You are not supposed to be afraid—you don't have that luxury. Whether you wear a hero costume and fight, create suits, or handle logistics, you don't have the luxury of panicking. Because when ordinary people panic, it's your duty to stay calm..."
The students felt ashamed after being scolded. Not a single word could be refuted.
Allen scanned the students before speaking again.
"Exit in an orderly manner. And don't worry—reporters just breached the perimeter."
A collective sigh followed, but even so, no one relaxed and they followed Allen's instructions.
"Incredible..." Deku gasped from a distance. Beside him, Iida clenched his fists in frustration.
Deku smiled awkwardly. Just moments ago, Iida had told him that he came from a family of pro heroes—heroes for generations—and that legacy had placed enormous pressure on him.
At first, Iida had entered U.A. with great confidence, having received training and advice from professional heroes. However, the more he learned about U.A., the more he felt he wasn't as talented as he once believed.
"Let's go, Midoriya-kun," Iida said, taking a step forward.
Deku sighed before following him.
Elsewhere in the cafeteria, Tsuyu and Uraraka were about to leave when they noticed the group of girls who had been with Allen standing still, not exiting the cafeteria.
Curious, Uraraka approached them.
"Did something happen?" Uraraka asked Momo, who looked worried.
"Uraraka-san, we can't find Allen."
"What?" Uraraka looked around and realized it was true—but that was strange. Not even a minute had passed since he had calmed everyone with his words.
"Allen-sama must have had something important to do, so he must have left quickly," Ibara said, trying to lighten the mood.
Tsuyu tilted her head. "Gero... isn't that strange? With Allen-chan's personality, he wouldn't leave you in a dangerous situation."
Out of nowhere, Toru clapped her hands. "Then that means Allen decided we're safe here and went to where the problem is!~"
The girls exchanged smiles. They all envied Toru's positive attitude, even in situations like this.
....
In a hallway near the teachers' lounge, a young student with long blond hair tensely watched the U.A. entrance, where many reporters had crossed the U.A. barrier.
Aizawa and Present Mic were in charge of containing the reporters.
The boy clenched his teeth, feeling pain in his stomach and the urge to scream—but he didn't. He couldn't.
To his right, a light laugh was heard, followed by a familiar voice.
"I'm sure Aizawa will complain that he's not paid enough for this job, don't you think, Aoyama?"
"...!"
Yuga Aoyama jumped back, putting distance between himself and Allen. When he stopped, he saw Allen standing by the window.
"What's wrong? You look tense," Allen asked without looking at him.
"But look, it's my eternal rival!" Aoyama forced a smile and placed a hand on his chest dramatically. "Oh, my friend and rival, were you worried about me? Such kindness!~"
When Aoyama finished speaking, Allen glanced at him.
"..."
Aoyama was sweating, visibly nervous, and unable to meet Allen's eyes.
"You look tense. Are you okay?"
"Y-Yes, it's nothing. This situation just makes me nervous. You know, what if U.A. gets attacked or something..."
"I suppose that's true..."
"Allen-kun, may I ask what you were doing here?"
"I noticed the only student in this area was near the teachers' lounge, so I came to see what was going on."
Aoyama laughed awkwardly, not even bothering to ask how Allen knew someone was here.
"And you?"
"M-Me?! I had business with Aizawa-sensei, but he had to leave unexpectedly to deal with the reporters..."
"That's unfortunate..."
Allen stopped watching Aoyama and focused on the entrance using his X-ray vision.
"I want to take a look at the entrance to see if I can find any clues. I guess I'll see you later."
Aoyama laughed nervously. "Haha, I see. Then see you later, Allen-kun."
Allen vanished, leaving Aoyama panting as he leaned on his knees. Once he recovered, he straightened up and walked away silently.
....
At the entrance, everything was already over.
The reporters, despite having no sense of limits, withdrew the moment Principal Nezu appeared, accompanied by Midnight.
Regardless of being the press, entering U.A. without authorization is illegal.
It was the cradle of future heroes, and obviously, villains would look at U.A. with malicious intent—so perimeter breaches were not taken lightly.
"What do you think, Principal Nezu?" Nemuri asked while observing the entrance.
The entire school perimeter was designed as a first line of defense for the students. The moment someone attempted to enter, multiple layers of reinforced metal appeared one after another, blocking access.
"Either something bad slipped in... or this is a declaration of war."
Nezu's words made Present Mic and Nemuri tense.
Just as heroes had their agencies and independent teams, villains occasionally formed large groups, and in those moments, they became bold enough to challenge the Hero Public Safety Commission—or even the government itself.
Aizawa frowned as he watched the entrance. "How long has it been since villains were this brazen?"
"A declaration of war?"
Allen's voice drew everyone's attention as he exited the building.
"Walker, what are you doing here—"
Aizawa was about to scold him as his homeroom teacher, but Nemuri beat him to it, running over and hugging Allen while rubbing her cheeks against his.
"What are you doing here?~ Did you miss your big sister?❤️~"
Nemuri hugged Allen without caring that she was dressed as Midnight.
"I was just curious to see how the entrance was destroyed," Allen said, unfazed by the situation.
"I don't know whether to feel jealous" Present Mic muttered while watching Nemuri cling to Allen. Judging by Allen's almost nonexistent reaction, this must happen often. If the reporters were still here, this would be tomorrow's headline.
"Allen-kun, would you mind sharing your thoughts on this matter?" Nezu asked, surprising everyone.
Nezu's defining trait was his intellect, so he rarely sought others' opinions.
"Principal?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow.
Understanding the situation, Nemuri let go of Allen, who walked toward the gate.
"It doesn't look burned—the grass isn't affected. There isn't much debris either, so it wasn't destroyed by brute force..." Allen crouched and touched the metal remains. "Destruction... corrosion... maybe degradation. Either way, it must be an extremely dangerous Quirk..."
"So that's why they had the nerve to declare war?" Present Mic asked.
"At first, I thought it might be a distraction, but seeing this power... maybe the culprit wanted to test something."
Nemuri crossed her arms thoughtfully. "Test what?"
"How strong U.A.'s barrier really is."
"I thought the same," Nezu said with concern. "But I dismissed the idea. Making a move like this just to test U.A.'s defenses would put us on high alert and even push us to improve the barrier further."
Allen chuckled. "Principal Nezu, remember—we're dealing with villains. Not all of them are evil masterminds. Many have mental issues, which makes their actions difficult to predict logically."
Nezu nodded, satisfied. "That's true. Many villains are impulsive, foolish, or mentally unstable. My apologies—I didn't analyze the situation deeply enough."
"So what will we do?" Nemuri asked.
"For now, we'll increase surveillance, repair the barrier, and have the development team improve it... Allen-kun, is there anything else that concerns you?"
Allen, who had been silently staring at the entrance, spoke again in a lazy tone.
"It's nothing. I was just wondering how many years it's been since a villain attacked U.A.—and why now."
Nezu's eyes lit up.
What had changed to cause such a significant shift at U.A.?
Why were reporters at the entrance?
Why did the entire country have its eyes on them?
All Might.
....
Batman – It's natural to think this has something to do with All Might.
Saya – Yes, the timing matches far too well.
Athena – I also feel like someone is trying to divert attention from something else, but maybe that's just my imagination.
....
Allen returned to the classroom for the second half of the day. The next class was Modern Art History with Nemuri.
Before Allen's first class with Nemuri, he had been worried that she might act clingy and reveal their relationship, but unexpectedly, that wasn't the case.
She was very professional. She even came dressed in office attire. She showed him no favoritism, nor did it seem like they had a close relationship at all.
Some of the boys were annoyed, since they had expected Nemuri to be some kind of pervert.
Of course, this had a price. Once they got home, Nemuri turned into a big sister with no sense of boundaries and clung to Allen until they fell asleep.
This time wasn't much different. Nemuri entered the classroom, explained what had happened, calmed the students, and then proceeded with the lesson.
At the end of class, Nemuri sent him a discreet wink and blew a kiss in his direction before leaving.
Excitement began to build among everyone, mainly because this was the final class of the day.
Aizawa entered. His attitude had changed—he looked more serious and far less lazy, which was natural. During the previous week, the last classes had usually been practical sessions, tests, and training that involved the use of Quirks.
"This past week, you've seen what your Quirks are capable of and how to face villains. But this time, we'll be covering a very important aspect of being a hero."
Aizawa held up a card.
– Rescue –
"This is the most important aspect of being a superhero. Regardless of villains, your top priority is always saving people."
"For this test, we'll be taking a bus to a more remote area, and it will be supervised by three teachers, myself included."
Deku raised his hand.
"What is it, Midoriya?"
"Shouldn't one of them be All Might?"
After all, rescue classes fell under All Might's subject.
Seeing everyone's expectant eyes, Aizawa hesitated before answering.
"No. This time, All Might won't be participating. He had a last-minute issue, but there will be a substitute."
"A substitute for All Might?" Bakugo frowned, unable to believe anyone could replace him.
"Calm down, Bakugo. She isn't well-known, but I guarantee her strength and abilities."
Aizawa's explanation was strangely vague, but it didn't matter. Once they reached their destination, they would meet All Might's replacement—who shouldn't disappoint.
On the way there, Allen felt the situation was a bit absurd. They were still within U.A. grounds, yet they had taken a bus to reach the facility where the rescue class would be held.
...
Rias – You're telling me U.A. is so big they need a bus to reach an area inside the school itself?
MJ – I think it's a separate facility, but it's still exclusive to U.A., so it counts as part of the school.
Kara – I figured as much when I saw they replicated an entire city district just for training.
Annie – The government support and budget must be massive. Even Vought, back in its day, wasn't that generous.
Eve – Now I'm annoyed at Cecil. The Guardians' building is a joke compared to how much money U.A. invested in its heroes.
PercyJ – No wonder the Hero Commission is so pissed at vigilantes, haha.
Esdeath – After spending so much money raising a generation of superheroes, only for them to be overshadowed by unknown vigilantes… that must really hurt their ego~
McDragon – I see. That's also why they're putting more pressure on this generation than usual...
Rick – In short, it's Allen's fault. Burp
"Hey, in my defense, this is Lucifer's fault and his obsession with giving power-ups to every villain I run into!"
Allen felt offended. It was true that vigilantes had increased public pressure on heroes, but if it weren't for Lucifer, he wouldn't have been nearly this active since arriving in this world.
After a while, they arrived at their destination. It was a massive dome-shaped building with a huge sign in front.
– Unforeseen Simulation Joint –
Waiting for them at the entrance was a professional hero who immediately stood out, as her suit resembled a specialized spacesuit.
[Anan Kurose "Thirteen"
Quirk: Black Hole
Type: Emitter]
"It's the superhero Thirteen!" Deku exclaimed, covering his mouth. "She's saved thousands of lives during natural disasters!"
"Calm down, you're going to give yourself a heart attack," Allen laughed.
"S-Sorry!"
"Haha, I can see everyone's really excited. That's right—I'm Thirteen, and I'm in charge of the USJ!"
Thirteen guided them as the massive metal doors opened. Once inside, everyone was amazed. Different areas resembling distinct biomes could be seen.
"As you've probably noticed, this place is different from Ground Beta. Here, the goal is to train you to handle various situations. There's a collapse zone, an earthquake zone, fire, flooding… This place exists so you can learn how to rescue people in environments like these. Of course, there's another objective as well..."
Aizawa stayed back, letting Thirteen handle the explanation on her own.
"Another objective?"
"The Commission regulates Quirk usage to prevent harm to others. Don't forget—one wrong move and a Quirk can easily injure someone. With Aizawa, you learned your Quirks' limits. With All Might, you learned the consequences of a clash between Quirks.."
"Just take my Quirk as an example. It's capable of generating black holes." To demonstrate, Thirteen opened the tip of her index finger, and the air began to be sucked in. "My Quirk can easily kill people..."
The entire class turned to look at Allen. They remembered what he had said during the first combat trial—that heroes carry immense pressure. Not only must they defeat villains, but they must also protect civilians from both villains and, in some cases, from their own powerful Quirks.
"Don't worry—that's why we're here. Before you go out into the world as heroes, you'll learn to control your own Quirks to the point where you'll have no trouble becoming great heroes!"
Thirteen looked genuinely enthusiastic, as if she truly enjoyed helping raise a new generation.
Allen, who had been silent until now, stepped forward.
"Allen?" Momo asked, but he didn't answer.
"Is something wrong?" Thirteen also looked confused.
"Walker?" Aizawa frowned.
Without responding, Allen walked toward the stairs that descended into the USJ, where the entire facility could be seen.
Slowly, Allen's training suit was replaced. An "S" appeared on his chest, a white cape extended from his back, and the Superman template was activated at 50%.
"Everyone, stay alert!" Aizawa ordered.
Over the past week, he had gotten to know Allen well enough to understand that when Allen became serious, it meant the situation truly warranted it.
A sudden silence fell over the area. Then the lights flickered due to an electrical surge.
[Allen, communications have been cut.]
"..."
Allen narrowed his eyes, pressed his foot into the ground, and launched himself forward.
His momentum was explosive, breaking several steps beneath his feet and leaving everyone in shock.
"Allen?!" Toru exclaimed.
Near a large fountain, a spatial distortion appeared. Slowly, a crack of darkness opened, and Tomura Shigaraki emerged from it.
By then, Allen had already arrived. He clenched his fist and didn't hesitate to strike.
"...!"
A red eye filled with malicious intent widened as the punch came toward him.
The punch landed with a thunderous impact, leaving the students stunned. Some of them still couldn't even process what was happening.
"Huh? This is strange," Shigaraki said, looking at Allen in confusion. "How did you know we'd appear here?"
Allen looked at the massive black hand that had stopped his punch just centimeters from Shigaraki's chest, then smirked mockingly. "I smelled your stench. Ever heard of soap?"
[Tomura Shigaraki
Quirk: Decay]
Shigaraki's eyes filled with murderous intent as he extended his hand toward Allen's face—that face that enraged him, that smile that made him feel inferior. Shigaraki felt an overwhelming urge to kill Allen painfully.
But Allen wasn't someone who could be defeated through impulse alone.
Allen's eyes lit up, and Shigaraki sensed danger.
"...!"
Allen's heat vision flashed as he fired.
For a moment, it seemed like a direct hit from the heat vision, but the next second, Shigaraki appeared covered by an energy barrier.
"You can't be impulsive, Tomura-kun"
"...!"
Allen's eyes widened, and he instinctively retreated. There was something dangerous within the distortion.
"Sensei..." Shigaraki murmured, his tone calmer and obedient.
"Allen, get away from there!" Aizawa shouted.
A clap echoed through the area.
"I'm at a loss for words, Allen Walker-kun..."
"Who are you?" Allen frowned.
"My apologies. Where are my manners?"
From the darkness emerged a man wearing a black suit and a black helmet.
The moment he appeared, the students felt their breath catch in their throats. An inexplicable terror flooded their bodies, paralyzing them. Not only them—even Thirteen and Aizawa felt chills run down their spines.
Every word spoken by the man in black was drenched in death, danger, and pure malice. It was as if he were mocking everyone present.
"I am your enemy, young hero."
[Zen Shigaraki "All For One"
Quirk: All For One
Stolen Quirks: ???]
Allen understood immediately. The main villain stood before him.
"Wow... I really have shit luck..."
