Upon entering the archive all Lily saw stretch before her and Six was rows and rows of bookshelves stacked impossibly high, nearly going higher than she could see. If it wasn't for the fact that she could barely see the ceiling she'd have assumed this place went far beyond what she could see right now.
"So, we'll find what we need in here?" Lily asks Six, who had now given her control over her body again.
"Yes, either we find concrete information on the history of this world... or we're going to find something much more confusing." Six replies with a bit of annoyance in his voice, not directed at Lily but rather for the whole situation. "If it is what I believe it to be then this Archive is likely nothing more than a simple hideaway now... and a potential fire hazard too."
Lily takes a few steps towards the nearest bookshelf and pauses as a peculiar sight catches her attention, something just strange enough to give her pause.
Not a single book here has a label or title.
"Six, did you forget to label the books?" Lily asks hesitantly as she begins to walk deeper into the archive.
"No, that's not something I'd forget to do... in fact the shelf we passed just now should be a history of Velstan's magic and how spellcrafting works." Six points out, causing Lily to pause and look back at a shelf lined with various multicolored books.
Out of curiosity she carefully steps over to the shelf and lightly pulls out a deep blue book which was much larger than anticipated, it was thick enough that she had to hold it with both hands and even then it was still nearly as big as her torso.
"This is a spellbook?!" Lily asks, absolutely flabbergasted by the sheer size and thickness of the book. "AND HOW DID IT LOOK SMALLER ON THE SHELF?!"
"Yes that's a spellbook, and it looked smaller because it was amidst all the other large books." Six rather dryly replies. "Go ahead and open it since you're already holding it."
Lily listens to Six and carefully sits the massive book on the ground before opening it up, at which point she finds the book is blank. Every page within the massive tome is untouched, not a single drop of ink anywhere to be seen.
"That's what I was afraid of, it seems the information in here has been erased for one reason or another." Six lets out a mental sigh at this as he begins trying to process what this means. "Lily, do me a favor and just start checking out random books, maybe there'll be something to work with."
"Yeah yeah, you got it boss." Lily halfheartedly replies before standing up and starting her walk over to another shelf.
Slowly she begins pulling out one book after another to quickly scan over them, yet every page turns up blank no matter how far she walks or how high she climbs to check.
Each and every page is blank.
All information wiped.
Every truth hidden.
Perhaps it didn't even exist in this world in the first place.
If Six and Demea aren't crazy then this could be a place that did exist but the information within was never meant to be seen or read at this point... or it was unknown to the one who replicated it, therefore all they could do was make the empty books.
Lily quietly lets out an annoyed sigh, she was supposed to uncover the truth of this in order to try and properly navigate the next life but so far she's just become more and more confused as the questions pile up.
However something quickly snaps her from her thoughts, a rather messy looking shelf she hadn't gotten to yet.
Every other shelf in this archive was neatly organized but this one singular shelf in the back left corner of the building was messy, as if someone aside from Lily had messed with it. There even appeared to be some rough titles scrawled or cut into the spines.
Each one was marked with a single word and number.
Turn 1.
Turn 2.
Turn 3.
There seemed to be currently up to ten or so books marked this way, though there could've been more that Lily just didn't see yet.
With her curiosity brimming she quickly and carefully grabbed "Turn 1" and sat down on the floor, opening the book once she was comfortable enough.
The page was written in some strange reddish black ink and reads as follows.
[So, I really don't know who might find this or if anyone will at this point but I've decided to leave my mark that I found this strange out of bounds dungeon.]
[It wasn't tied to a quest or anything like that, nor were there any hints about it, I just decided to explore the ruins of Resovult after the war and ended up finding this place.]
[Whoever designed it really put a lot of effort into it but I guess they ran out of time to use it as there isn't even a secret dungeon or any worthwhile items here.]
[Still, as the first person to find it I might as well leave my mark even if its highly unlikely anyone else won't... the war wiped out most of us after all. ]
[The Dark Lord is pretty much impossible to beat and that strange hole in the sky made it impossible to focus on the battle, I swear I heard a strange bell ringing from it but no one else did.]
[Maybe I'll go and investigate it one last time before I fully give up.]
[OH but just in case anyone else did survive and find this place I'll leave some notes for you, hopefully they'll be useful in your survival of this ruined world!]
