Edward kept his eyes on the nearest screen.
Everyone Aslan intended to introduce had now appeared on the stage. The Heroes stood together on one side, with Jayden and Victor beside them, while Maria and Celeste occupied the places nearest the king.
Aslan had begun another speech.
Edward barely listened.
There was little in it that seemed to require his attention, and he doubted he was alone in that assessment. Around the hall, guests watched the screens with varying degrees of concentration. Some were clearly listening; others were looking at the people behind Aslan, their interest caught by the Heroes and Apostles.
Maria and Celeste held most of that attention.
Edward's gaze rested on Celeste for a moment.
She stood with the same composure she had maintained since her entrance, her white eyes directed ahead. The camera shifted slightly, bringing her more fully into view beside Aslan.
Edward lowered his gaze.
"They're so noisy, Honey."
