Chapter 237 - Chapter 235

While the lower heavens had turned into a complete nightmare where casualties were piling up every single second, the upper heavens were also getting attacked by these Khaos Brigade terrorists. But unlike the chaos down below, the situation up here was still completely under control.

Because the ones guarding the high heavens were the Great Seraphs themselves, along with the most elite squad of angels in existence.

High above the main palace, where golden towers stood proud, the high-ranking commanders of both sides were locked in a wild, earth-shaking battle. These weren't just normal soldiers. The ones fighting here were absolute monsters, and every time their attacks clashed, the sky cracked like glass.

"Hahaha! Is this all the almighty Seraphs have to offer?!"

A giant evil god swung a massive sword covered in black fire. The heat was so crazy it melted a floating island nearby into hot lava before the blade even landed.

BOOM!

Gabriel blocked the heavy strike with her glowing holy shield. A huge shockwave blasted across the air, blowing hot wind everywhere. Her twelve pure white wings spread out wide as she pushed back with raw magic power, her face cold and serious.

"Intruders, how dare you step into the home of God with your dirty feet?" Gabriel said, her voice full of anger. "You will be punished for your disrespect!"

With a fast spin, she thrust her golden sword straight forward. A beam of bright light shot out like a laser, blasting a clean, burning hole right through the evil god's chest. The monster screamed as holy fire burned him from the inside out, turning his giant body into dust.

The evil god, who was clearly an ultimate-class being, was killed just like that without even being able to defend himself. In Heaven, although Michael was the one in charge of leading everyone, he wasn't given that position because he was the strongest angel. No, it was because he was the best commander. The strongest angel had always been Gabriel, both in the past and for the future to come.

Gabriel shook her golden rapier, flicking away the tiny drops of black blood left on the blade. Her twelve pure white wings flared with blinding holy light, making her look like a true goddess of war.

Right next to her, Uriel and Raphael were dealing with three other ultimate-class evil gods at the same time.

Uriel moved like golden lightning. His flaming sword flashed in broad, bloody arcs, slicing off heads and arms before the enemy gods could even finish casting their dark spells. Meanwhile, Raphael threw up huge holy shields that bounced back dark magic blasts right into the enemy monsters, turning their own attacks against them.

"They just keep coming!" Raphael called out, keeping his shield strong as a giant dark beast punched it uselessly. "It seems the Khaos Brigade really brought everything they had for this attack!"

"It doesn't matter how much trash they bring; we just need to kill every single one of them." Uriel's voice echoed from above.

Uriel dropped from the high clouds like a falling meteor, his flaming sword burning bright like the sun. He slammed right into a group of dark commanders who were trying to sneak past the guards into the inner shrine.

BOOM!

The crash blew the enemy commanders into bloody pieces, the holy fire burning their remains into absolute nothingness. Uriel stood up tall, his golden eyes sweeping across the battlefield with absolute calm.

"They are wagering every resource they possess, knowing full well the outcome is their final desperate gamble," Uriel declared with a chilling edge, his blade flaring with intense solar heat. Although Uriel is a muscle-headed hothead, he is also a master strategist, so it isn't hard for him to understand what is really going on.

"After a year of crushing defeats at the hands of the Alliance and Shadow Garden, the Khaos Brigade has clearly decided to stake everything on this singular assault. They believe that by bringing down Heaven, the weakest of all the other factions in the Alliance, they can shatter the Alliance's spirit and swell their own ranks with new recruits. But so long as Gabriel and the rest of the Seraphs remain standing, these high heavens shall never surrender to such filth."

Upon hearing his fierce declaration, a thunderous roar erupted from the ranks of the angels, their morale reaching new heights as they surged back into the fray with revitalized fury. Inspired by their Seraphs, the high-ranking angels pushed the Khaos Brigade forces back across the upper plazas, cutting down dark beasts left and right.

Just as the tide of the battle was tilting towards Heaven's favor, a massive explosion occurred from the sky, rocking the very foundation of the realm and the very foundation of the realm, sending violent shockwaves through every layer of Heaven down to the lowest gates.

"What is that?!" Raphael yelled, instantly throwing up a triple-layered magic barrier to protect everyone from any incoming attacks. His first instinct was to cast his best defense magic to protect everyone, but it seemed that was unnecessary, as even the enemies were disoriented from the shockwaves.

Then his expression suddenly changed as he turned to look towards the First Heaven, where God resides. Not only he, but even the other seraphim turned their attention towards the First Heaven.

When they saw the entrance to the First Heaven blown to pieces, all the Seraphs felt like they had just been slapped right across the face. A second later, pure, unstoppable rage took over, and they completely let loose their terrifying killing intent.

The air in the upper heavens instantly turned freezing cold from the sheer aura they released. The lower-ranking monsters of the Khaos Brigade choked on their own breath, collapsing to their knees in fear before the Seraphs even moved a muscle.

"You absolute fools..." Uriel growled, his voice trembling with furious rage as his fiery sword burst into a towering pillar of gold flames. "You dare destroy the sacred gates?!"

"Not a single one of you gets to leave here alive," Raphael said coldly. He didn't even bother with defensive shields anymore, summoning dozens of massive holy spears around himself that burned with lethal light.

Gabriel's eyes turned completely ice-cold. She didn't say a single word, but her twelve wings flared out with a blinding light that washed over the entire battlefield, completely blowing away the dark smoke and miasma.

With a loud CRACK that broke space itself, Gabriel vanished from her spot.

In less than a millisecond, she reappeared right in front of a colossal monster—a behemoth far bigger than Godzilla—that was blocking her path. The beast didn't even get a chance to register her presence, let alone make a move. With a swift, blinding arc of her holy-powered blade, Gabriel sliced the massive creature completely in half, sending its colossal halves crashing down in flames before it could even let out a roar.

With the nuisance dealt with, Gabriel was about to fly straight toward the First Heaven, but right at that second, her danger senses screamed at maximum volume. Throwing away everything else, she snapped her body around and swung her golden blade sideways to block a pitch-black energy strike that appeared completely out of nowhere.

BOOM!

Even though she reacted in time and cleanly blocked the surprise attack, the sheer, crushing weight behind the dark strike was too much to ignore. The impact blasted her backward like a cannonball, slamming her straight into the ground and creating a massive, cratering explosion that shattered the white marble plaza into dust.

"Gabriel!" Uriel yelled, his eyes widening in shock.

A thick cloud of smoke rose from the pit, but before long a burst of golden light blew the dust away. Gabriel slowly stepped out from the crater. Her white armor had a few cracks, and her breath was a bit heavy, but her cold gaze was fixed directly on the sky above.
