The golden-clad god took a half step back.
"W-who are you?" he demanded, trying to keep the tremor out of his voice. "No mortal should be able to look at me like that."
Eros tilted his head slightly, almost amused.
"A nameless thing like you doesn't need to know who I am," he replied calmly. "There's no need for a man to introduce himself to an ant."
The insult struck deeper than any blade.
The god's face twisted in rage. "Insolent—!"
Divine power roared to life. A massive hammer of crackling lightning formed in his hand, thunder shaking the mental world.
"I am omnipotent!" the god bellowed as he swung it down toward Eros. "I will erase you from—"
Eros didn't move.
He only chuckled.
"If this were the outside world," he said lightly, "I might have been worried."
The hammer came crashing down.
"But not here."
From Eros's body, a different lightning erupted.
Not wild.
Not loud.
Pure, controlled, terrifyingly refined.
