The new battle they just passed was slightly bigger than the previous one. Yet it shared the same general features and circumstances as the first battle, even shared the same ending with everyone's deaths at the hands of William's monsters!
"It seems the dark masters did the same in any gathering," after stumbling upon the third battlefield, William was now sure of his theory.
"They turned their blades against normal masters; that's typical. Still…" Becky raised her head and looked at William in doubt.
"What's the gain, right?" William could read through what she was thinking about, "I can't decide. Perhaps there was a deal between the two sides, and the kingdoms' masters didn't stick to their side of it!"
"That doesn't add up," Becky was still feeling unsettled, "I can't believe the scaredy cats of dark masters will pull such a move in the middle of enemy territory. If they wanted to backstab these masters, then sudden withdrawal in dire times will be enough…"
