William was satisfied with the result of the conversation. He knew Kong hadn't taken the matter of the theft seriously initially—not even when William first mentioned it.
To a man who sat at the pinnacle of power, a few missing papers seemed like a triviality to be handled by subordinates. But after William had meticulously stressed the implications and painted a target on the dark masters, the Old Monster had finally decided to act.
"By the way, I forgot to ask," Kong said, his eyes narrowing as he leaned back. "Who exactly is this master of yours? Why hasn't she shown herself here to meet me or the others? Surely she knows the Long clan is a worthy ally."
