As Gran took a few steps to the side, creating a respectful distance while he waited for his cousin to emerge from the depths of the mansion, William finally took the opportunity to check on Berry.
The girl was still trembling slightly from the adrenaline of the duel, her red hair appearing even more vibrant against her pale, stressed face.
"You… You do know that you gave me a heart attack just minutes ago?" Berry hissed, though her eyes were soft with relief. "I thought my father was going to cleave you in two! And then you started teasing him! My heart nearly stopped!"
"Hahahaha!" William couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh, the sound echoing through the garden.
"You'll have to get used to this from now on, Berry. I'm not exactly the type of person who meets a challenge without embracing it fully. If someone wants to test me, I'm happy to provide the material for the exam."
