Something about the world had changed from the night before to this morning.

The sun was shining brighter, its orange hue deeper. The morning air was fresh and lighter, and the fragrance of the flowers was more pungent and soothing.

Everything seemed a lot more different than they had been yesterday. And as Lina stepped out of the cab and into the shop, she was certain everything had changed.

Sweet scents of freshly baked brownies and pecan pie filled the air. The croissants and macarons promised delicacy, and from the door she could almost taste the coffee Philippa had brewed.

"Good morning, people!"

"Good morning."

"Good mor—ning." Philippa looked up and blinked, surprised by the smile on Lina's face. And no—it wasn't just the smile, but the light that came with it.

"Someone's in a good mood," she observed, setting down the wiping towel in her hand.
