In the center of the pile of metal was a furnace belching waves of heat. Its door opened and closed intermittently, creating the sound of clashing metal. Each thunderous impact was soul-shaking.
Charles recognized it. It was the God of Shattering. However, compared to the massive machine it had been before, the God of Shattering now resembled a mobile steam castle.
It had absorbed other Gods of Shattering to become more complete. Its betrayal had earned it significant benefits from the IMF.
A hollow, damaged copper figurine was placed at the very front of the castle. The sporadically opening furnace door cast the figurine's face in light and shadow. Its gear-decorated eyes arrogantly swept over everyone present. "Who is it? Who dares to offend the great God of Cogs and Gears, McCain!"
As the God of Shattering spoke, various machines within the flames behind it stirred to life. Gears and steel plates clashed together, instantly extinguishing the fire.
