The night wasn't entirely pitch-black, as the snow-covered ground reflected a faint light. Instead, the landscape was cast in an eerie, dark yellow, reminiscent of the dimness just after dusk. The snow fell heavier and heavier, and the car plowed two deep grooves through the drifts, yet neither side showed any intention of stopping.
"AWOOO!" Several vague, four-legged shadows emerged from a red glow, attempting to approach Anna's car.
With two swift hisses, the Mask threw a pair of flying knives, and the shadows dropped to the ground.
The Mobile Task Force was closing in. Their blurry figures, numerous and indistinct, swarmed through the heavy snowfall. The atmosphere grew tense as both sides understood a brutal battle was inevitable and began their preparations.
