"I'm not afraid to die! I've already experienced death once—it wasn't all that terrible," Lily shouted her thoughts to this world's Charles with unwavering resolve.
"Besides, some things matter far more than death. Back then, Charles gave so much to help me fulfill my wish."
"So, when he needs help, I can't let him bear it all alone! And I have never forgotten my identity!"
"Oh? And what is your identity?" The thousands of eyes on the fleshy pillar locked onto Lily.
"Gunner of the Narwhal! Duty: Load and aim the deck gun! Use all shipboard weapons to help the Captain clear any and all obstacles!" Lily's crisp voice echoed through the air.
Charles was silent for a long time. When he heard the name Narwhal, he felt a sliver of closeness to the girl before him, despite having lost most of his humanity. This was true even though she had never once set foot on his ship.
