"You know, the Light God is dead. The other religions are maliciously slandering Him, twisting His image. They describe Him as an evil god like Futan, one who demands human sacrifices. After observing all this, I found my purpose in life.
"I'm already too old; I'm afraid I won't live much longer. But I cannot bear to see my former God slandered like this.
"So, I intend to record this history—to commit this now-dead religion to paper so that the world will know such a faith once existed upon the great sea."
