As it propped up its body with bizarre tentacles, a nauseating, cadaverous fluid dripped onto her face. The liquid seemed insubstantial, seeping through her skin and muscle to slide along her spine before dripping slowly to the floor.
At Anna's command, the Rotten Inflammation providing illumination nearby flared up and lashed out at the entity. But the Rotten Inflammation, which could previously incinerate anything, proved useless for the first time, passing straight through the creature's chest. Its body seemed non-corporeal, or perhaps it was merely a projection.
