The crimson forked tongue flickered in and out of its green mouth, hissing as it moved. This made it difficult for Charles to tell whether these creatures were snake-men or lizard-men.
Shanshan had just taken a step forward when Charles pulled her back. "Don't be hasty. Let's wait and see what they want to say."
"Outsiders, you're not from this island. You'd better think carefully about whose turf this is before you start any trouble."
One of the snake-men, eyeing Charles fiercely, spoke first. Judging by the fact that he took the lead, he had to be their leader.
The snake-man's words struck Charles as odd. It didn't sound like something a villain would say—at least, not a man-eating Monster.
"Whose turf is this? This should be human territory, shouldn't it?" Charles said, calmly looking at the group of snake-men Monsters before him.
To his surprise, his words were immediately taken as a provocation.
