The pristine white door opened, revealing a modest studio apartment. Deia walked in, swiftly tapped on the wall, and spoke again. "Alright, I've set the place to offline. You can come out now."
Charles quickly leaped out from Deia's eye socket. "Where is A2 being held? Do you have any way to contact her?"
Deia touched his wound, said, "Wait a minute," and headed toward the adjacent bathroom.
Pure, transparent freshwater quickly filled the bathtub as blue holographic projections shone through the water. "Healing mode initiated."
When Deia took off his shirt and lay down inside, the transparent liquid submerged his wound, and it began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye.
This was no power of a relic—this was the power of technology. The scene filled Charles with a strong sense of dissonance; it was hard to imagine they were sharing the same space with the Abyss-Sea humans.
