Putting aside the despair-inducing Gods, this was truly the best of times for the people of the Abyss-Sea.
After two cataclysms, the population of the Abyss-Sea had been drastically reduced. Fewer people meant more land and more opportunities. A grand new age of expansion had begun; opportunity was everywhere.
The population on Hope Island had also thinned out. Ambitious folks left on ships, hoping to realize their dreams. Some of them died, but surely, some truly succeeded.
As for the previous Black Wall, the people of the Abyss-Sea paid it little mind. This was, of course, the result of all the Governors tacitly agreeing to control the information.
There was no need for the common people to know about the Foundation's world-ending plan. It would only add to their worries and serve no other purpose.
