Charles's ears twitched, and his single eye instantly flickered toward the mirror embedded in the fleshy wall. There seemed to be a bit of a commotion on the other side.
"When will this test be over?" Charles tentatively asked the mirror, but his inquiry received no response.
He sensed that something unexpected had happened, but he didn't act rashly. In the face of the unknown, a reckless escape attempt would only make matters worse.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the wall, Pai Bo once again phased his deformed body out from the partition. Several individuals in white lab coats forcefully inserted long needles, each connected to an optic fiber, into the head of Pai Bo's grotesque, wormlike form.
Pai Bo began to convulse. Soon, all of Charles's life memories appeared in his mind. After browsing for a moment, he couldn't help but exclaim in amazement.
"My God, what's with this guy's Memory? Why are there so many signs of alteration, from beginning to end?"
