In front of the mountain-sized Octahedron, Pede's stature should have been the difference between an elephant and a mouse. Yet now, in Charles's eyes, it had become an absurd scene—a mouse challenging an elephant.
Strange ripples quivered from the shroud of darkness around the enormous Octahedron. These waves could have easily destroyed a Foundation air carrier, yet they were utterly useless against Pede.
But when Pede raised his deformed hands, which were pocked with black holes, and smashed them hard against the Dark Sphere surrounding the entity, its body instantly cracked and rapidly dissolved.
Julio's face turned grim as he watched. "Those useless bastards! They're better off thrown in the sea to feed the fish! They've always had such overwhelming power and never mentioned a word, just watched as we fought for our lives on the surface! The world's about to end, and they're still hiding their strength!"
