"I want to eat that. Yesterday's canned food was awful; it was so salty it almost killed me."
As they walked past a restaurant, Lily suddenly pointed at the charcoal-grilled prawns on someone else's plate behind the glass, shouting.
Lai Jie's steps faltered for a moment. Then, without saying a word, he nodded and led Lily into the bustling restaurant.
Soon, in a private room, Lai Jie smiled as he watched Lily devour the plump, white prawn meat from a comfortable sofa, holding two different sauces at the ready.
Lily was wolfing down her food while sneaking glances around. When she saw there weren't any mouse holes in the room, a hint of distress crossed her face.
Of course, eating wasn't the real reason she had come here; she was actually looking for an ally.
Suddenly, Lily swallowed what was in her mouth and griped to Lai Jie, "How am I supposed to eat with you staring at me? I hate being watched when I'm eating, so get out!"
