At first, they just threw some tables and chairs overboard. When they realized that this was hardly helping, the crew turned their attention to the heaviest things on the Narwhal: the two deck guns.
They shouted in unison as they worked together to dismantle the deck guns.
Invisible, Charles carefully poked his head out of the smokestack to watch the absurd scene unfolding on the deck.
What the hell is going on? We're already far enough away from 005-3, at least ten kilometers. Why aren't they showing any signs of waking up?
Charles's expression was grim. His plan had failed. He had thought that moving away from 005-3 would help the crew, but that clearly wasn't the case. This form of brainwashing wasn't affected by distance.
He had to solve this problem before the Narwhal reached the ground, otherwise the crew would surely clash with the garrisoned troops at the base below. If that really happened, both sides would suffer heavy losses.
