Norden had just finished speaking when his slender, mantis-like legs pushed off the ground. His deep green form blurred as it lunged toward the nearby railroad tracks under construction.
Just as he and a forklift carrying rails crossed paths, wispy silver threads—thin as hair—connected between the joints of his multiple arms.
With a flash of cold light, a large section of the thick rail, two palms wide, was sliced clean off the forklift's right side. Before him, the pure iron was no different than mud. The off-balance forklift was about to topple when transparent tendrils sprouted from the ground and righted it again.
"Impressive. You're adapting well," Charles applauded.
Charles had used this body before, so he understood its advantages. Besides its sharp offensive capabilities, its complete lack of eyes was also a strength.
