Charles ran anxiously through the dark tunnel. He had already begun to adapt to this strange new body, now able to hang upside down from the ceiling as if it were instinct.
But this was nothing to be happy about. Trapped inside the monster's body, he knew his own was now being controlled by the creature.
He had miscalculated earlier. He thought sending only one of his eyes to follow and investigate would be cautious enough, but he never imagined that the creature could control his body on the distant ship just by grabbing his eyeball.
Charles was overcome with anxiety. God only knew what these monsters would do with his body or how they might treat his crew. He had to rush back and tell them everything that had happened.
This type of monster had no eyes. They relied on their eight palms pressed against the ground, sensing the feedback from vibrations to perceive their surroundings.
