"Ahem." Charles cleared his throat. "Nico, I'd be happy to discuss your personal matters, but not right now. Can you give me more details about this relic? Is there any way to avoid its side effects?"
Charles wondered if integrating it into his own body might help sidestep the side effects.
Nico shook his head slightly. He looked at Charles, his white teeth gently biting the end of the silver spoon. "No idea. This relic belonged to my first mate. He's dead, though."
After pondering for a moment, Charles nodded. "Alright, I'll take the relic. But what I don't get is why you want to board my ship."
He was still wary of the relic's abilities, but that didn't stop him from claiming it. Perhaps it would come in handy later.
