"Captain, what are you even talking about? There's nothing there!" Deep was utterly confused.
But at that moment, Charles didn't have a second to spare for Deep's thoughts. He saw something white falling from the sky in the distance, slowly approaching them.
When he heard that familiar clacking sound again, his entire artificial memory instantly began to fracture. True and false information mingled together, turning his mind into a chaotic mess. He now had two completely different sets of memories in his head.
Charles's face twisted in extreme agony. He clutched his head with both hands, the veins on his forehead bulging.
"Hey! Chief Engineer! Hurry and get the ship doctor! The captain looks like he's in terrible pain!" Seeing Charles's condition, Deep yelled anxiously into the turbine room's voice tube.
Charles gritted his teeth, staring at the overlapping worlds around him. With a trembling right hand, he pulled out his journal.
