Outside the light of Dawn One, the Light God's radiance vanished, but the darkness did not return.
The sky above the Abyss-Sea had neither light nor darkness, only a sort of grayish void. But even calling it gray didn't seem quite right; that semi-translucent haze always gave the feeling that something was there.
"How could this be... What in the world is going on?" Charles stared in shock at the scene before him.
He hadn't even figured out if this was a precursor to the return of Darkness.
BOOM! A deafening roar erupted as the distant, pitch-black tower crashed heavily onto a greenhouse. Immediately afterward, accompanied by violent tremors, the greenhouses on Hope Island began a chain reaction of collapse, caving inward as cries and screams rose up from below.
Just as Charles was about to rush down to stop it, his exceptional eyesight caught sight of something emerging on the sea's surface in the distance—things that would have never ventured near the shore before.
