Charles looked at Anna speechlessly. "Can you women think about anything besides love?"
"Then why are you spending so much energy trying to find a way to save her? Is that little mouse really so important to you?" Anna smiled at Charles.
"Because she's my gunner! A crew member who's been through life and death with me!"
"Alright, alright, I didn't say anything. So, how are you planning to save your little mouse?"
Hearing this, Charles sighed softly. "I have no clue. Lily's situation isn't that simple. Even when the Pope mobilized the entire Church, they couldn't find a solution. Conventional methods probably won't work."
"Ah, well, you keep thinking about it. I have things to do, so I'll be on my way." Anna gently pressed her hands to Charles's cheeks, then turned and walked toward the door.
The wood-grained door had just been cracked open a sliver when Anna's tentacle shot out and coiled around something outside.
