Staring blankly at Donna kneeling before her, Shanshan couldn't quite understand what she was doing.
She glanced over to see that Nini had finished her steak, so she reached into her bag for more food and placed it in front of them.
"If you're hungry, just let me know. I still haven't finished the task Dad gave me, so I have to go. Oh, right—Nini's mom, where are the most people right now? I have a lot more seeds to give out."
"The docks," Donna answered immediately. "A lot of people went to the docks. Earlier, some were fighting over boats to leave the island. I don't know what's happening now."
Shanshan nodded, and in a flash, bag in hand, she vanished on the spot.
Donna stared blankly at the ground where Shanshan had been, at a loss for words.
Finally, she turned to her daughter with a complicated expression. "Nini, it seems you've made a truly extraordinary friend."
Nini licked the steak sauce from her fingers. "But she's just Shanshan, isn't she?"
