Seeing Kede's strange, secretive muttering, Charles couldn't be bothered with him anymore. He turned and walked toward the people standing nearby like wooden posts.
He snatched the binoculars from the Second Officer's hands and rapped him on the head with them. "You're really something. You might be the first person in the world to look at the sun with binoculars."
"Captain, th-that... what is that thing?" Krona stuttered, pointing at the sky.
"The sun. What else could it be?"
Charles shoved the binoculars back into Krona's arms, then squatted down, picked up the motionless white mouse from the ground, and began kneading it in his hands. "Stop staring, or you'll become a blind mouse."
"Mr. Charles, is that your home up there? The place with the TV or computer?" Lily's furry little head popped out excitedly from between his fingers as she asked.
Smiling, Charles tossed her into the air, catching her with both hands amidst her screams. "You're right, little Lily. That's my home."
