Chapter 121 - Chapter 121: Not Fins

"Captain, is that a shark?!" Deep grabbed the doorframe with one hand, his body halfway out the door as he peered at the distant sea lit up by the searchlights.

Quickly estimating the distance, Charles judged the fin to be nearly two meters long. He couldn't make out the true size of the body underwater—the seawater kept it concealed.

"Just keep an eye on it. If nothing strange happens, ignore it," Char said, gripping the wheel.

If it's just some man-eating giant sharks, that's nothing to worry about. Compared to the other terrors on the sea, natural creatures are downright adorable.

Charles had thought they would simply pass each other by, but then more fins surfaced from the water. They gathered together, swimming toward the side of the ship like a flock of sheep. By the time they reached the ship, the sheer number of fins was so dense that it unnerved the crew on the steel deck.

The fins drew close to the ship's side, but the tall hull blocked Charles's view.
