Just as Charles was about to pull the Black Blade from the corpse, an elderly voice spoke from nearby. "Does killing people alleviate your symptoms? How interesting."
Charles turned to see the ship doctor, who had appeared at his side at some point, holding a pen and taking notes.
"What are you doing here?"
"Your pet rat dragged me over. It was in such a hurry that I thought something terrible had happened. But it was just this?" The Doctor stepped into the scarlet pool of blood on his iron leg.
He held some powder in his hand and sprinkled it over the bodies on the ground. Accompanied by a gurgling sound, the corpses rapidly decomposed.
Soon, the blood-stained group returned to the room. An excited Deep held the mask in his hands, toying with it constantly, as if the people he had just killed weren't even worth his notice.
James stood up and bowed deeply to everyone. "Thank you all for your help."
