The lump of flesh re-formed into a human head and spoke with a pained expression. "Over there, on that table, is Relic 487. Use it on me, and it will kill me. Hurry, I've endured this pain for too long."
The various living things near the tank quickly cleared a path, and from a distance, a table walked toward him on its four legs.
"487? Sounds like a relic." As Richard started to move their shared body forward, Charles suddenly seized control.
"Are you willing to die for a relic?! We need to get out of here, now! Something isn't right about this place!"
Charles controlled their legs and charged toward the door. Their body was trembling more violently now, which was not a good sign.
"Hey, why are you running? This guy seems pretty reasonable. What's wrong with helping him out?"
"It's my time now!"
"How about I borrow it from you? I'll pay you back tomorrow with interest."
