Chapter 642 - Arc 11 Side Story 1.67: Captivant Adrian Nightfall part 8

Location: The Rinastcean Unions, Naval Grand Base, Maelstrom

Φ With a book in his hand as he sits hunched over the table, he hears another man enter his room and says, "Barbossa."

"Yes, Warwick."

"Why do you think people set out to sea from their homes? The seas are frightening, the world is dangerous, the little island we of Molstoria live our lives on shields us from the knowledge that would help us tame existence, creating untold amounts of despair.

Yet regardless of all of that, we still left our islands; we still went out to explore at sea. What could we possibly see from our little homes that we kept to ourselves that made us do such a foolish thing?"

"I am one of those foolish humans, as I started following another boy my age from the moment we met during our recruitment. Since then I've done stupid things like sail the seas, fight vicious Wonderbeasts, engage with bandits and mercenaries, and even tried to uncover the darkness that still festers in Molstoria. Each moment I had to drag this weak and young body of mine through adventures and trials that even adults would shy from.

Yet at the end of it all, I saw their smiles of the liberated, the smiles of the saved, and the faces of my family who had long since passed, reminding me of why I fight: to never let the tragedies that have befallen me, you and many others in the history of Molstoria by the force that has spread its roots in this land overtake us all."

"Still, do you think you'd have left your island if its palms never fell on you?"

"No, I think my love for them would have kept me still even as its power continues to spread."

"You are right, and for that reason we need more power, enough to overtake the world. Yet if we continue to claim it, one day it might fall into the hands of those we wish to destroy, and can hollow men like us really win?"

"Hollow? That's something I would say about you. Your emotions have never left you, only moving on towards all the people who lie in these seas we call our home."

With his eyes opening wide, Warwick says, "You sound like the old hag. Were you hanging out near those brothels?"

"Not in this lifetime. But maybe you should spend more time with your new wife. I doubt that women who raised you would be happy at your mistreating a woman sworn to you."

"Arranged marriages for political gain would already disgust sister Morgan. I am sure her life as the wife of that scum at Basileia is already hell; she would never want to see me anyways."

Kneeling in front of Warwick Barbossa, taking a knee, says, "Today the greatest general who has ever lived on these seas, Barbossa Fredrick, promises his blade to you till the day he dies. He promises his blade to the man who tames the seas, the man who raises the future, the man who has cast away his desires for us all, the man who loves all who have fallen, the man who questions himself each day, and the man who has yet to ever fail to showcase his love for this world. Even if your eyes may look like a bottomless abyss, the rejection you send to others who try to fall into the same hole is something that I can only describe as love. And I promise as long as that love remains strong, so will I."

Warwick smiles as he stares into the face of the smiling man in front of him, then stands up and says, "I should go see her then."

"I will handle all the work till you return."

"Good. Make an effort to calm down patrols around unregistered island, and assist with trade between islands; also, if you see Captivant, tell him I said thank you."

Smiling, Barboosa says, "Of course."

As he reaches the door, Warwick freezes for a moment and says, "Do you think that our want to protect his land will one day lead to the world's extinction, or would its destruction at the hands of others be better?"

"Don't you know, even if our foe is one with insurmountable power who has existed for longer than our own names, we will overcome him since Love surpasses power."

Smiling, Warwick says, "You're right."

-Age 35-

Continent: Terrafide

Location: Holy Nation, Gevurah; Papal Chambers

Φ Sitting in a grand throne with white and gold robes covered in feathers draped across his body, as he wears a mask of feathers that transforms into a helmet covering his face. In his right hand, he holds a staff with a shiny rainbow coloured orb at the top, with feathers floating within it.

He stares forward, looking all throughout the grand hall, with green feathers in each and every corner of the room flying about as heavy light shines through the top of the building, with music flowing with the flow of the green feathers as they dance around. Attendants, wearing garb that covers their entire face in a plurality of colours, stand across the walls of the halls, shining along in a mind numbing mediation.

A bell rings, sending echoes throughout the area, and the two grand doors in front of the room open up, with a man who has overflowing, unkempt hair like a living beast coming out of pure white garments that cover every aspect of his body.

The attendants rush out, and staring at the man, they feel a deep rage rise in their bodies, as one says, "Throne Gillard Kalim, you know better than everyone else as a 1st Seat and leader of the 7 Miracles that you must not bare any aspect of your flesh in front of this divine chamber."

"It's my hair, not my flesh, so no problem? Besides, my hair is so big it's hard to fit in these tiny outfits."

"NO EXCUSES!" The Attendant shouts.

"Argh, how annoying. You should return to school and relearn your manners."

The attendant slams his foot on the ground, and around the man, a series of other attendants holding staves similar to the man on the throne, though far less regal, appear and point their staves at him.

Rubbing his head, Throne says, "Do you really want to do this? Because depending on how it goes, your blood may end up a permanent stain on this beautiful floor?"

In that instant, the man in the throne slams the bottom of his staff against the ground and says, "Everyone except Throne, leave this room."

"But Sir?"

"Leave," the man says in a powerful voice echoing throughout the room, causing all the attendants to leave quickly.

And as the door shuts, Throne smiles and says, "Hey Soleil, how can you stay focused with such a pretty attendant? I could tell by their body shape that whatever goes on underneath those robes is insane."

Sighing, Soleil says, "Can't you just be normal for once?"

Appearing at the side of Soleil in an instant, a chair of thorns manifests itself beneath his butt. "Oh, come on, you used to make jokes like that all the time back in school."

"A poor use of my time; besides, I now know objectifying women who've sworn themselves off carnal desires and towards God is the highest of sins and a great insult to their efforts." With a fierce aura emanating through his cloak, Soleil says, "And understand that those who spit on the convents of others is nothing more than the height of insults, that will not be tolerated as long as I sit on this chair?"

Nodding his head, he says, "Okay, you don't have to get all scary."

"Then stop saying things that make me want to smite you, brat."

Reaching into his hair, he says, "Okay, okay. But let's get that brat out of your ass as well."

Pulling out a football, Throne dribbles it around as Soleil says, "Really, in this holy space? Are you asking to be smitten?"

"It is said that one should bring a gift to honour the pope, as he is the emissary between God and Kings, so what other item could I possibly bring except your favourite. Made right out of your family's favourite, Boor hide."

Soleil ignores him, yet as the dribbles and moves of Throne start to enrapture him, his head moves more and more into Throne's line of sight, before the ball is lunged towards him at full speed.

Standing from his throne, he reaches out and starts dribbling the ball before kicking it up to his forehead and balancing it on it, as Throne says, "Gotcha."

Realising his actions his kicks the ball away at full speed, then gets on his knees and says, "Oh God, I have sinned, and as you command I shall eradicate all that brings me to sin even in your holy presence."

Sitting down cross-legged, Throne says, "Hey, don't smite me yet. I still got a lot to live for."

Annoyed, Soleil returns to a similar position and punches Throne in the forehead before saying in a nasty tone, "What are you here for, you ugly bastard?"

"That's the Soleil I know. I have just come to ask the man second only to the king himself for permission to continue the war on Terrafide."

"You still want to move forward after losing 3 of our Miracles? And you think I can help you?"

"Of course, I am sure an enlightened man like you can see the need to move forward."

"So you got rejected by the king, and you want me to overrule him?"

"I would never ask such a thing. The King reigns over man, and the Pope communicates the will of the higher ones to man. Separate but equal powers. Maybe the Pope could whisper into the King's ears."

A kick moves towards Throne, who catches it and says, "Violence really? How untelonist of you?"

"Asking for a falsified message is even more untelonist. You seem to forget that it is only due to me that your 7 Miracles project got greenlit."

"And since then we've produced nothing but result after result. Expanding the surrounding territory rapidly. We have excelled in many regards, but our military has always been far too focused on protecting and policing."

"Many lords, as well as those up above, do not like the power you've given to those who do not show the proper principles of our country. To those who pretend like God, the Messiah hasn't already descended."

Throne voice deepens as he says, "So what? It doesn't matter if I upend the rules a bit, because at the heart of it I believe. And they believe as well; the country of Gevurah is unmatched in its ideals. In this world, many accumulate filth that takes their hearts and minds as they grow.

Yet we of the holy land strive to strip such filth away, returning to the truest form of humans before all the constructs we made rotted our humanity. The rules and laws embedded here from birth in every citizen who exists and is yet to exist grant us strength beyond what those creatures out there could ever hope to seek.

God has already descended, and lies in the holy palaces whose light shines down from on top above us. And I will let blood paint the Theophila until everyone understands that truth, and for that we need power; we need to expand, we need to show the people of our country that power lies in those who understand our principles, that's why we need to crush that bug, and the traitor for shaming us. And as the chaos around Terrafide vanishes, we have a responsibility to accomplish such a dream."

"Your faith is strong, but you've been overruled by something even greater."

"Overruled? Not even the ones above can overrule you in matters regarding humanity without showing themselves."

"Two can, and you'd have felt the Messiah's presence if he touched open the planet."

"You don't mean."

"The Christós herself has overruled me, and all future plans you have."
