Abaddon had little to no time to react as his own power raced toward him like an arc of terrible destruction.
Time slowed down for him as he began to erect his perfected shield spell to cover himself and his daughters.
But there was too much area to cover, and he shield needed nanoseconds to fully form.
That was the first time that he had such little wiggle room in a battle.
Abaddon shut his eyes tightly and dug deeply into his new powers.
He mentally willed time to move faster for him, and only him.
He felt a great amount of energy leave him, and a thread seemed to snap in his brain.
When he reopened his eyes, Abaddon did two things.
For one, he sent Gabbrielle and Mira away, tossing them into Eden and slamming the door closed.
Next, he made sure that he and Thea were protected by a divine wall of pink light.
As the whole world sped up again, he felt a terrible wave of weakness seize him.
