When the prayer was done, Arabella beamed so brightly as she held Ferdinand's hand.
Ferdinand's heart skipped a beat.
He wished Arabella always smiled at him like this.
Her smile was radiant and heartfelt, and her eyes were shining warmly.
Somehow, it even felt like she was proud of him for whatever reason, as if he had done something great for her, and she was very much satisfied with it.
"Thank you," Arabella kissed him on the cheek.
"I didn't do anything much."
Ferdinand loved the kiss but he looked away. He was embarrassed and felt guilty because he had tried to learn the truth earlier without asking her directly, and yet she was thanking him like this after only one prayer.
"It means so much to me. I'm truly grateful, Ferdinand," Arabella said and hugged him.
Ferdinand gulped.
She said his name with an additional warmth that felt different from usual.
