Volume 56
Lex walks into Anastasia chambers as she tries to stand up from bed but cries out in pain. Lex runs to her side feeling worried as she assisted her to stand from the bed. Are you alright, 'Your highness?'…. Anastasia answered with a smile. I'm fine, Lex. I just feel a slight pain in my chest…. I feel guilty that I'm the reason you're hurt. He said…. You don't have to feel hurt, Lex. It was my decision to protect you from getting hit by the arrow and I never regret risking my life for yours... Anastasia said smiling. Why will you risk your life for me, Anastasia? Didn't it occur to you that you could have gotten killed by the arrow? I was really scared when you got hit for my sake. I wish it was me who got hit instead …. Anastasia embraces him warmly. I love you, Lex. I won't let any harm come to you. You're very special to me…. Don't ever do that again. Lex whispers to her ears. Don't ever take such risk for me again. I won't be able to forgive myself if something bad happens to you. It's my duty to protect you, 'Your Highness'. Your father will never forgive me if I bring you to harm's way…. They both stared at each other intensely as Lex kisses her passionately on the lips. Diana walks into the chambers as they quickly let go of each other, both chuckling. Diana smiled. Sorry for interrupting 'Your Highness' but the King desires your Presence. Lex nodded. Alright. Tell him I will join him shortly.…. Very well. She answered and walks away.
Do you have an idea why the King might want to see you? Anastasia breaks the awkward silence between them…. I guess it's about my request to sign the allegiance treaty…. Anastasia smiled. I hope he agrees to help you in the war. You really worked hard for this. Lex kisses her on the forehead. Wish me luck…. You have my blessings, Lex. Anastasis replies smiling. I will be back soon. He exits the room as Anastasia returns to sleep.
