Chapter 28 - Son of Evergreen

"WHAT?!" Jesse and Deros simultaneously exclaimed, with their mouths dropped.

"You're Siure? Leader of the Deusrians? I don't understand the gods are dead!" Jesse yells in disbelief. Eris sighs and blinks in astonishment. He turns back around and continues walking, Jesse and Deros follows.

"It's nearly impossible but, gods do die...though we weren't exactly gods. I don't remember it all yet, but... we were the conceptual ones... the Unruly Seven," he intones, calmly.

"Okay, but history states that the gods... or the Deusrians haven't been around since the Fall of the Primis. That's like thirteen thousand years ago! How the hell are you here now?" Jesse asks another question.

Eris chuckles, "You know, to be exact it's actually 13,019 years ago, right before the current era began," Eris responds.

Deros scoffs, "You didn't answer his other question," Deros pesters firmly.

Eris rolls his eyes, "Look, I don't have all the answer's right now. Okay? All I know is that I need to see that traitor and ask him who else is awake," Eris says, getting annoyed.

"Wait," Jesse blurts out and grabs Eris's shoulder, turning him around. "The other Deusrian's have been reincarnated?" He queries.

"No, not reincarnated," Eris began and turned back around, "we manifest,"

At Royal Castle of Astellan

Ash and Zoe sit on a bench, snuggled up with each other. Smelling the flowers created by each others magic. Aeron sits beside Sloan, looking through all her new potions that she created back home at Zaharia.

"Guys!" Jessica yells, standing at the archway that goes to the garden. Everyone then looks up and focus their attention on Jessica. "Look who I found standing all lonely in front of the castle," Jessica says jokingly. Someone then steps out of the shadows from behind her.

Sloan stands quickly, eyes wide open.

"Rose!" She yells.

"Girlfriennn," Rose yells out sassily. Sloan runs up to her and kiss her.

The others get up too, all walking over to Rose to give her hug.

"Unt unt," Sloan says pulling her back, "she's mine." She says. Rose laughs and walks out of Sloan's hold. "Hugs for everyone," Rose said smiling, and everyone hugs her in a huddle.

"So, what's been happening? Jessica says Queen Sylvie is at the Western Isles?" Rose asks them as they walk over to sit down at a bench. Zoe nods, "Yeah, mom is there for a summit. Hopefully King Eris is there too," Zoe says. Rose squints her eyes in confusion.

"My kingdom was attacked last night by the Koroshi. I really hope Eris and Mikalae are okay," Jessica says with worry. She then shakes her head. "B-But how was your secret mission. Do anything fun?" She asks Rose, trying to change the subject. Rose chuckles nervously. "Actually, before I talk about that, I need to see the elders," she says before getting up.

"Wait," Zoe says, "Elder Vetinry and his sister? Why do you need to see them?" Zoe asks in confusion. "We..." Ash starts, "We gotta discuss the mission with them first. We'll be quick," Ash says before getting up and rushing Rose off back inside the castle.

The others look at each other in confusion. "Have they ever seen the elders together before?" Aeron asks Zoe. Zoe nods no.

"Hmm," Aeron wonders... he's suspicious of them.

Ash and Rose stand in front of Elder's Vetinry door. Rose steps up in front of Ash and bangs on the door.

"Who dares to disturb me in thy chambers!?" Elder Vetinry angrily demands an answer.

"Operation SOE!" Ash shouts.

After unlocking various locks, The Elder's door swing open

"Come in," He says from a distance.

Rose and Ash walks into his giant chambers and the door slams shut behind them. They look over to the left and see Elder Vetinry siting in luxurious throne-like chair.

"We need to get Queen Sylvie here too. I was going t-"

"Terasay. There is no need for her presence," Elder Vetinry interrupted, waving his hand lightly.

Ash holds his head up high and step back, reaching his arm out to make Rose follow him. "Do you really think I'll hand this over.. to you?"

Elder Vetinry chuckles.

"Of course not," he laughs. "Even in your weakened state, I'm sure you and your friend would give me a challenge if I fought you for it. I've come to the conclusion that we have no jurisdiction over someone like you," Elder Vetinry then grabs onto a staff and stands up slowly. He slowly holds his hands up and points and the creaks wide open.

"Go, do as you please with it. But before you go, I have to ask... who is the voice behind the spiral on Sylvie's tree?"

Ash steps up in shock.

"What? Spiral blessed Sylvie's tree?" Ash asks, surprised. "Ah, so you do know of that voice," Elder Vetinry sits back down in his chair, hand still on his staff.

Ash takes a deep breath in and out.

"They are not to be discussed. Believe what you think," Ash turns around

"Finally want out of this creepy ass room?" Rose said looking around, on guard and Ash nods. They begin to walk towards the door just before Elder Vetinry blurts out,

"The Man in the Cloak... the Spiral on Sylvie's tree forever whispers 'look for the Man in the Cloak',"

In the Western forests of Ambrose Island, Astellan

Grayson and Hasan ride in a royal carriage carried by white unicorns with golden horns. Grayson looks through the pictures on his phone and Hasan's head lays on his shoulder. Hasan asleep, no longer ranting.

The carriage suddenly bumps and Grayson and Hasan jumps.

Hasan wakes up sniffing and blinking.

"Gray?" He asks rubbing his eyes.

"Hey," Grayson begins before grabbing Hasan's shoulder, "I'm here, and you're awake. Finally," he chuckles.

"I..." Hasan gulps. "I need more sleep. More memories," he whispers before laying his head back on Grayson's shoulder. Grayson scrunches his face in fear but lets him sleep

Back at Astellan's Castle Garden

"Hey, so I was thinking," Aeron begins, "uh about the Arealisans in the east. And I want us to go and find them as soon as we get in contact with King Eris," Aeron says to Jessica. Jessica eyebrows raise in shock and chuckles lightly. "That's... thoughtful Aeron but, we're on the brink of war. I-"

"I've thought about that too," Aeron quickly mentions, "and if we really want to win don't we want the most powerful clan that ever existed? The clan that the Dragon King feared?"

Jessica inhales, thinking about an answer but suddenly the ground rumbles. A red flower rises up in front of Zoe. Zoe reaches out, touches the petals and gasps.

"Well," Sloan began, "What the hell is it?" She asks. Zoe looks up with a smile. "Just a message from my mother. She says she won't be long, she'll be back before sunset,"

"What about the Summit? Did she see Eris?" Jessica asks quickly, slightly worried.

"The Summit was a success. All the realms agreed to join forces against the Koroshi. And Eris... they selected him as the Supreme Commander of all armies,"

Sloan, Jessica and Aeron faces lit up in shock.

"They all actually agreed?" Sloan asks surpised

"The words 'Great War' makes the rulers shit their pants," Aeron chuckles, "Not surprised they picked Eris to lead though. He ended the Thousand Year War in like a week. And I hear he's some sorta war strategist, that'll-

"Yes!" Jessica blurts out and they all look at her in confusion.

"We're saving my family in the Eastern Isles.." she clarifies and looks at Zoe and Sloan,

"together"

"One last mission for the Knights of Astellan, before we join the war..."

In Mediocris City

A white portal appears in front of the castle's doors and Eris, Deros and Jesse jumps out.

"I believe it's only a quarter after two," Eris began as he walked into the castle, "Please, do me a favor and keep what I said secret. After all, no one is truly supposed to know about us. I'll find you later, and tell you everything," Eris says continuing to walk inside the castle.

Jesse looks up at Deros, "Uh... Wanna get something to eat with me while we wait?"

Deros nods aloofly. "Yeah, I can go for food,"

In the castle, Eris follows eerie whispers. He walks upon door in the courtyard that wasn't there before. He opens it walks down the stairs.

There, the hallway is dark and engraved with Primisian scriptures.

The Spirit of the Sacred Tree appears feet away from Eris.

Eris smiles lightly, "Phantum," he says

"M'lord," he lightly bows in response, "I didn't think you'd remember my name,"

"How could I forget? That... and how we failed you," Eris says solemnly.

"Nonsense, it's ancient history M'lord," Phantum responds quickly.

"Hmm," Eris begins to walk forward,

"I'll leave you two be," Phantum says before disappearing.

Eris walks to the end of the corridor and enters the chambers. He walks over and sees someone hanging on the wall by vines.

The man looks up smiling

"Hello... father,"

Eris sighs

"Enjoying your newfound memories?" He asks.

Eris simply looks at him, barely even blinking.

The man scoffs, "Come on! Thirteen thousand years and you still wont talk to me? I'm trying to make up for it, father. I regret letting them here every single day!" He hollers.

Eris opens his mouth hesitantly, "I will.. never forgive you for betraying us. For comprising my leadership with the seven, and worse, comprising this planet and everyone in it," Eris says, scolding.

The man's eyes lower and his face saddened.

"But... I can move on," Eris says calmy and the vines holding his son slither off of him.

He falls down and smiles as he stands. "Hug?" He asks holding his arms out cheesing.

"First, Riune," Eris steps back, "What happened with your siblings? I know you're able to keep tabs on them," Eris asks and Riune's smile faded. "They... they encountered the eldest child of Belial," he says solemnly and Eris grunts lightly with a shocked, fearful expression.

"Luckily they used Uncle's manifestation technique," Riune says

"Whew," Eris sighs in relief. Riune then pulls Eris in and hugs him.

"Mmm," Riune inhales deeply, "This body suits you," he whispers then pulls away after a moment.

"Now then, have you identified the others, father?" He asks. Eris rubs his chin, "Hmm. Let's see, your Uncle Akimus is near, but he hasn't remembered, I don't even think he wants too. And for the others... I don't know yet," Eris says.

"Not true. I'm sure you've heard about the Son of Evergreen?" Riune queries mischievously.

At The royal castle of Astellan

Ash opens a bedroom door and closes it. He walks over to a mirror and looks down at a shoulder bag he got from Rose.

He breathes in and exhales heavily.

"The darkness in life is with light above sky..." he pauses and inhales, "the sea past the forest is with day and night. And now..."

Ash reaches into the bag with his left hand and pulls something out.

It's an apple.

An apple with a gold glow.

"...the forest will arise," he whispers

He then bites into the apple and with one bite, the apple fades away into a gold dust.

Ash's pupil's then dilate. His pupils and irises turn white, and the sclera of his eyes turn from with and small specs of green leaves appear.

A powerful forest green aura appears around him and he laughs with joy.

"Tch... Ah!" Eris exclaims. "Do you feel that, Riune?" He asks, walking closer to the Sacred Tree. "Yeah... It's one of us!" Riune responds with a mischievous smile, following Eris towards the tree.

"Good," a voice muttered from behind

"You awakened him," he says

Eris and Riune quickly turns around. Eris steps up in shock.

"Ash? but your eyes…" Eris says, walking closer to him. "You're,"

"Fo'rys," Riune chuckles, appearing behind Ash. "Now that you're here and you've got your power back, tell father how good I've been," Riune connivingly smiled.

Ash sighed and shakes his head.

"Anyway… it's nice to see you awake, Sky… I'm glad I felt you two," Ash says as wooden chair appears and he sits down in it.

"We need to wake up the others asap," Ash asserts. He holds his hands out and two other wooden chairs appear in front of him. Riune and Eris then take a seat.

"Until now, I was powerless and Thoth…" Ash stops himself, catching Riune look at him, "sorry, Riune's power has been sealed. But now you're awake and I took my power back, the chain of effect will begin," Ash explained with concern.

"Right… our omnipresence will force the others to remember. But it'll do some damage," Eris remembers.

"I say let the damage be done," Riune blurts.

Ash and Eris looks at him seriously,

Riune scoffs, "What? Still too early to joke?"

"Well, for the joke of The Posterities, it's never early," Eris croaked

Riune blinks a few times uncontrollably and turns his head. "Joke? I bet mother wouldn't say that," he hissed, expressing disapproval.

"But," he turns his head back around and his mischievous smile returns, "I'll prove you wrong. I'm gonna get my true form back," he says con ifidently.

"He sure is," Ash chimes in. "And I'm helping him,"

In front of the royal castle of Astellan

The carriage stops in front of the giant staircase heading into to the castle.

"Hasan," Grayson whispered as he lightly tapped his shoulder. "We're here," he said.

Hasan didn't move.

Grayson then placed his hand on Hasan's forehead.

"Fuck..." He whisphers.

He pulls out his phone from his pocket and taps on contact.

Back in the Sacred Tree Chambers

"Look," Eris begins sternly, "after things blow over, I can take you to aunt-"

"No," Riune deadpanned. He then chuckles mischievously, "I'm doing this myself,"

Ash's phone rings

"The only way I have full control over my other half is if I take control. No help," he says sassily,

"Hey, I gotta go," Ash blurts out as he stood up.

"What is it?" Eris asks, standing up too.

Ash looks back with a light smile. "The Contriver ofLife, my father is awakening,"

Eris scoffs happily, stepping up closer, "And they're name? What is the name they have now?"

Ash chuckles, "He's one of my closest friends..."

"Hasan,"
