Weekend.
Just before dawn, Charlotte Allison finally fell asleep, resting her head on Lucas Quinn's shoulder.
She slept soundly, unaware that while she was asleep, Lucas held the nearly six-foot-tall Charlotte like a giant stuffed toy, letting her sleep on his shoulder as he carried her to the nanny car someone had driven over.
He accompanied her sleeping form in the nanny car, ensuring a smooth drive all the way to a house nestled on a scenic hillside.
The house wasn't large, but it was well cared for, clean and tidy. Lucas had already arranged for clean bedding before coming.
When he carried Charlotte out of the car, she slowly opened her eyes, groggy yet alert upon seeing the unfamiliar environment. But Lucas comforted her by pressing her head back on his shoulder, soothing her with, "Sleep, I'm here," and she trustingly continued sleeping on his shoulder.
