Chapter 670 Taking Over the Lingjiu Palace?
Jiang Bai's words silenced the other party, but there was no outburst of anger as Jiang Bai had imagined, nor did the other party show any particular disappointment. The other party remained calm and composed, with no change in expression on their face.
He simply sipped his tea silently and watched Jiang Bai quietly.
After a long pause, he said, "Since you say you don't know Master Sangge, then you definitely don't know him. I believe you. As for the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, although it is our inherited secret manual, it has been lost in the hands of our Lingjiu Palace. That means our karmic connection has ended."
"The Buddha allowed you to receive the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, which is naturally your destiny. If you are unwilling to give it to us, we will not pursue it."
Upon hearing the other person's words, Jiang Bai fell silent, glancing at them with surprise and astonishment.
In Jiang Bai's mind, if he had rejected the other party, the other party should have at least threatened him, if not flew into a rage. Why was the other party so easy to talk to?
That shouldn't be the case. Could the other party really be a highly accomplished monk with extraordinary cultivation?
Or is there some other purpose?
Jiang Bai was somewhat puzzled.
However, one thing is certain: behind her extraordinary refinement lies something else that Jiang Bai is unaware of.
Jiang Bai didn't think anyone in this world could be so naive, which might be related to his experiences.
Or rather, none of the people Jiang Bai came into contact with were simple-minded; they were all as cunning as foxes, giving Jiang Bai a profound understanding of what it means for people to be treacherous. Naturally, he no longer believed that there was any pure faith or aimless contact in this world.
"Master, how did you know that I possess the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill? I don't think I've used it much, and most of those who have seen me use it are already dead. Where did you get this information?"
The Grand Lama couldn't have appeared out of thin air. Since he's here, someone must have guided him. Otherwise, how could an old monk who's been practicing in seclusion in the deep mountains have come to Tiandu, right at his doorstep?
Jiang Bai felt that things were not that simple, and he was very curious as to who was manipulating everything behind the scenes.
I'm very curious about their purpose. Do they simply want to help the Grand Lama and Lingjiu Palace?
Or do you want to provoke a conflict between yourself and the other party?
"It was Benefactor Yang who used this information to exchange for the eighth and ninth levels of the 'Azure Wolf Devouring the Heavens Technique,' treasured by our Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain."
Master Bayantele did not hide anything about this, and bowed to Jiang Bai, revealing Yang Wudi without hesitation.
Or perhaps, when Yang Wudi sold this information to the other party, he had no intention of hiding it at all, and did not instruct the Grand Lama not to reveal his identity.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Bai's forehead was covered in a cloud of gloom.
No one could have imagined that Yang Wudi had betrayed them.
Moreover, it sold for a good price. The eighth and ninth levels of the "Azure Wolf Devouring Heaven Technique" are no wonder Yang Wudi was able to achieve a breakthrough from it.
Jiang Bai had been wondering why Yang Wudi hadn't broken through to the peak of the seventh level, which was among the top tier of experts, the very pinnacle of the pyramid. It wasn't because of insufficient cultivation talent, but because of a flaw in his technique. Jiang Bai had known this for a long time.
When the head of the Nangong family faced off against Yang Wudi, he said that Yang Wudi's "Azure Wolf Devouring Heaven Technique" only had the first seven levels. If Yang Wudi had any subsequent techniques, he would have broken through them long ago.
Unfortunately, he didn't have that, so he remained stuck there, unable to make any progress.
When they were in Taiwan, Yang Wudi suddenly broke through and was able to compete with Nangong Xinghuo. Jiang Bai was curious about how Yang Wudi broke through or how he obtained the subsequent cultivation techniques.
However, the other party did not give Jiang Bai a chance to ask questions; they came in a hurry and left in a hurry as well.
Looking back now, could that guy have been feeling guilty and didn't want to face me?
Jiang Bai really wanted to call Yang Wudi and give that bastard a good scolding.
That's really something. He's supposed to be the boss, and he just sold himself out like that?
He obtained the two subsequent levels of the "Azure Wolf Devouring the Heavens Technique" from the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. This not only allowed him to break through the barriers and enter the ranks of ancient martial arts practitioners, but also gave him the opportunity to advance further and cultivate to the ninth level.
But this caused Jiang Bai a lot of trouble.
Jiang Bai didn't know the origins of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, but one thing was certain: the other party was definitely not that simple.
Those who once mastered the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill must have been among the most skilled masters.
Their lineage dates back an unknown number of years, but it must be at least several hundred years. They even possess treasured techniques like the "Azure Wolf Devouring the Heavens Technique," which demonstrates their formidable skill.
Even if the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill" is lost, isn't there still a top master like Bayantele to protect us?
Their sect's signature martial arts techniques certainly include more than just the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill; otherwise, the lineage would have been lost long ago.
Jiang Bai didn't know how many experts or people Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain had, but it must be a powerful force.
Yang Wudi was pleased with himself and gained some benefits, but he had created such a big problem for himself. It would be strange if Jiang Bai didn't want to curse him.
While he was thinking about how he needed Yang Wudi to give him an explanation, Bayantele spoke up again.
"We understand that you are unwilling to return the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill to us, but I have another suggestion. I wonder if you would be willing to accept it?"
Jiang Bai raised an eyebrow at these words, glanced at Bayantele in front of him, and nodded after a moment of silence: "Tell me about it."
He was also very curious about what the other party would say.
Because what follows might be the real reason and purpose behind Bayantler's search for him.
Since Yang Wudi revealed this to him, there's no reason why Yang Wudi wouldn't have told the other party about his character.
Based on Jiang Bai's understanding of Yang Wudi, he knew exactly how Yang viewed him and what his reputation was. He wanted Jiang Bai to hand over the information to someone else.
That's utterly delusional.
Yang Wudi must have mentioned this to the other party.
That's why Jiang Bai was very curious about what the other party planned to say to him.
It must be a very interesting plan, but Jiang Bai will only know the specifics once Bayantler speaks up.
"We would like to invite you to take over the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain and become the master of the Lingjiu Palace, the leader of our generation. Our entire Lingjiu Palace will be loyal to you. All you need to do is to select a suitable successor for the Lingjiu Palace in the future and pass on the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill to him so that the Lingjiu Palace can continue its legacy."
Bayantler said to Jiang Bai in a deep voice.
This solution was the best one they came up with after detailed research.
Of course, not everyone agrees with this plan, but the majority of people do.
Chapter 671 A Difficult Decision
When this plan was conceived, it was met with opposition from many people.
These people felt they should forcefully search for Jiang Bai and compel him to hand over the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill," a secret manual passed down from the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain.
However, at the suggestion of Bayantele and Abu Danzeng Rinpoche, the majority of people agreed to resolve the matter peacefully.
This was naturally due to the immense prestige of the Living Buddha Abu Danzeng.
More importantly, the information provided by Yang Wudi indicated that Jiang Bai was not someone to be trifled with.
His cultivation level was already top-tier, and he practiced a monstrous martial art like the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill".
No one understands the power of this supreme esoteric Buddhist manual better than the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. Even among top-level experts at the seventh level, practitioners of the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill" can almost crush their peers.
Both its defense and attack power far surpass those of other experts of the same level, and its vitality is frighteningly tenacious.
Moreover, Jiang Bai is said to possess supernatural abilities equivalent to immortality, making him extremely difficult to kill.
An opponent who cannot be killed is absolutely terrifying.
Jiang Bai is so young, yet he possesses such strength. If he misses his first strike, the consequences for the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain will be unimaginable.
Having already lost the Supreme Scripture, and now facing constant attacks and retaliations from an unkillable adversary, Lingjiu Palace is finding it difficult to withstand.
The crucial point is that they cannot actually kill Jiang Bai, because their goal is not to kill Jiang Bai, but to obtain the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill". If Jiang Bai dies, they will gain nothing.
Killing people brings no benefit, while not killing them only leads to constant attacks; it's a losing proposition no matter how you look at it.
Although Lingjiu Palace is hidden deep in the mountains and does not concern itself with worldly affairs, it does not mean that its inhabitants are all fools.
On the contrary, the old monks are very shrewd. Lingjiu Palace has never lacked capable and intelligent leaders; otherwise, it would not have been able to endure for thousands of years.
No one would do such a losing business.
Of course, there is another reason, which is also very important, and even the main reason why Abudanzeng Rinpoche was willing to stand on Jiang Bai's side, which is Jiang Bai's cultivation level.
Jiang Bai's cultivation level increased too quickly; he reached the seventh level of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique at the age of twenty-four.
This speed is unprecedented; even the founder of a sect did not have such a fast cultivation speed.
The fastest master in the history of Lingjiu Palace to reach the seventh level of cultivation was forty years old. That was a living Buddha who was a genius, a terrifying figure who awakened his spiritual intelligence at the age of one.
He reached the seventh level at the age of forty, and finally, when the Living Buddha passed away at the age of one hundred, he reached the unprecedented tenth level, truly deserving the title of Dharma King.
How old is Jiang Bai?
Twenty-four years old, I guess...
Even if he also cultivated from a young age, it's still too terrifying.
Their future prospects are limitless.
It is very likely that it will reach the highest level of the legendary thirteen levels of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique, making it invincible.
It's all because Jiang Bai is too young and too fast.
The Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill is not a demonic skill; it is a legitimate esoteric Buddhist manual. It is completely peaceful and there is no possibility of becoming possessed by demons. Its only drawback is that it is too time-consuming and energy-intensive to cultivate.
Even a dull-witted person can cultivate, but it requires a lot of time.
The key to mastering this technique is not talent, but time; youth is the best asset.
What he didn't know was that Jiang Bai's "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill" wasn't thirteen levels, but eighteen levels, far exceeding that top-level concept.
Moreover, Jiang Bai's lifespan far exceeds that of ordinary people. Due to his "super recovery," Jiang Bai's potential for growth is much greater than they imagined.
Even without knowing all this, based solely on Jiang Bai's current performance, he is qualified to take over Lingjiu Palace, because that would mean the resurgence of Lingjiu Palace, and Jiang Bai could very well become the second Dharma King.
This is also the fundamental reason and justification for Abu Danzeng Rinpoche's ability to suppress opposing forces.
"To take over Lingjiu Palace?" Jiang Bai was taken aback.
He considered many possibilities.
For example, the other party might offer you unparalleled martial arts techniques, miraculous elixirs, or divine weapons in a trade, or they might threaten you.
But no matter how he thought about it, he never expected that the other party would make such a suggestion. Not only did they not want to deal with him, they also asked him to join them.
To lead Lingjiu Palace? To become its master?
To be honest, this was something Jiang Bai never expected.
Jiang Bai fell silent for a moment, weighing the pros and cons.
He didn't know much about Lingjiu Palace, but he knew it must be a considerable force. Otherwise, Yang Wudi wouldn't have needed to make an exchange with them. Their possession of the sequel to "The Devouring Heaven Technique of the Azure Wolf" was their greatest sin.
Yang Wudi wasn't exactly ruthless and vicious, but he wasn't exactly a saint either. If they weren't strong, why would he waste time talking to them and making any deals?
They probably snatched it away a long time ago.
If they don't have the strength to face Yang Wudi, what can they do?
There's probably no other way but to swallow my anger.
However, Yang Wudi did not do that. He endured for many years without being able to break through, and finally used Jiang Bai's information to obtain the subsequent cultivation method. Regardless of the reason, it is enough to show how powerful the Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain is.
If such a force were to be mastered, it could instantly compensate for Jiang Bai's weaknesses.
This will prevent the awkward situation where he is all-powerful while his subordinates are useless, allowing him to truly possess a force, the benefits of which to Jiang Bai are self-evident.
But is it really that simple?
Jiang Bai expressed his doubts.
They even wondered if this was a deception tactic by the other party, a way to lure them into the Lingjiu Palace, trick them into going to Tibet, and then, once on their territory, to harm them.
These ideas, though somewhat dark, may not be entirely impossible.
Over the past year, Jiang Bai has witnessed too many things and met too many people. He has a deep understanding of the dark side of this society because he has really not met many good people.
That is why he understands human nature even better. In the face of self-interest, even the most accomplished and enlightened monks may do some heinous things.
Jiang Bai has to be on guard.
But Jiang Bai was still somewhat unwilling to accept such a straightforward rejection. There was a big piece of meat in front of him, and even a small bite would make Jiang Bai feel quite uncomfortable. How could he just give it up so easily?
Jiang Bai was somewhat reluctant to part with it.
Moreover, if he refused, it would be tantamount to pushing these high lamas to the opposite side, making them enemies of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, and creating a powerful enemy for himself, which is definitely not the act of a wise man.
Therefore, he hesitated and struggled, finding it difficult to make a decision in a short time.
Seeing Jiang Bai's hesitation, Bayantele said in a low voice, "Our Lingjiu Palace has been able to survive for over a thousand years, from the rise of Tibetan Buddhism to the present day. There are reasons for this. We have enough strength to protect our rights and status."
Chapter 672 Master, Am I stupid?
"We have been independent of Tantric Buddhism for more than a thousand years. Lingjiu Palace has experienced countless storms and has never truly declined."
"Even after we lost the inheritance of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, it is still the same."
"The Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill is indeed a peerless treasure, but it has never been a major subject of Lingjiu Palace because it is too difficult to cultivate. Apart from disciples with dull aptitude who cannot cultivate it and the master of Lingjiu Palace, very few people cultivate this unique skill."
"It takes a lot of time to master, and only the most talented and the most dull-witted can cultivate it. Therefore, everyone else has cultivated some other unique skills."
Jiang Bai understood this. The Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill was both dependent on aptitude and not dependent on aptitude. It was dependent on aptitude because only the most talented and powerful people could cultivate this unique skill to a high level and reveal its true power.
The reason why it is said that aptitude is not important is because anyone can cultivate. Even if you have no talent at all, you can still cultivate. It just takes some time. However, most people who do this do not achieve much. They may only reach the first or second level in their entire lives.
It's certainly powerful, but it's still not enough when facing a true master.
That's why the old monk Bayantele said that.
Jiang Bai understood all of this, and he remained silent because he wanted to wait for Bayantele to continue.
Jiang Bai knew that this was someone demonstrating their strength to him and trying to win him over, so he wisely didn't interrupt and waited for Bayantele to continue.
As expected, Bayantele continued, "Our Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace currently has four great masters known as the Four Dharma Kings, all of whom are top-level experts."
"All eight guardian Vajras are first-rank masters, and the Living Buddha Abudanzeng is even more beyond the limit. Although his lifespan is not long, he is the treasure of the mountain. With him, the Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain is as stable as Mount Tai."
"In addition, we have hundreds of disciples who live in seclusion in the mountains. The Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain is a reclusive force that cannot be ignored and is no less powerful than the aristocratic families of the Divine Continent."
"If you, benefactor, can become the head of Lingjiu Palace and the chief of the palace, Abudanzeng Living Buddha is willing to step down and give way to the worthy. From now on, Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain will follow your lead."
Eight first-grade masters and four top-grade masters—this power is extremely strong, even stronger than what the Nangong family has displayed, provided that the Nangong family doesn't possess the Ice Burial Coffin technique.
However, it's possible that the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain also has something similar. Even if it doesn't, it's terrifying enough, because they have a master who has surpassed the limits, the Living Buddha Abudanzeng, who is at the Martial King level.
No wonder even Yang Wudi didn't dare to touch them and wanted to make a deal with them.
It's still about trading yourself with others!
That grandson had told me before that the sects and aristocratic families saw how hard he was working and gave him the eighth and ninth levels of the "Azure Wolf Devouring the Heavens Technique." I was puzzled at the time, wondering how someone could be so kind.
When I looked back, I realized I'd been sold out in no time.
Cunning, cunning! Those who hang out with Cheng Tiangang and his gang are all bad news.
If the power of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain were slightly weaker, with only eight top-tier experts and no Abudanzeng Living Buddha, Jiang Bai might be tempted to control that power, and his strength could instantly surge.
But with the addition of a Living Buddha, Jiang Bai became somewhat hesitant. He had fought against such a person before and deeply understood just how powerful such a person could be.
Even if Abu Danzeng were to become the leader of the masses, and he were to actually enter the Lingjiu Palace, he would only be a puppet. With him in charge, who would those experts listen to?
It's obvious even to a fool.
Jiang Bai didn't think that he, as the nominal head, could truly lead the masses, compared to a living Buddha who had been sitting in Lingjiu Palace for who knows how many years.
Whether in terms of strength or prestige.
If you can't control them, you'll just be a puppet.
Jiang Bai had no interest in going all that way to be someone's puppet, although he probably didn't even need to go.
When these people came to my door, I should have known that, given my current situation, even if they gave me a hundred experts to command at will, I would never go with them to some remote mountain forest to become a local tyrant.
Even in heaven, things couldn't be better. Jiang Bai isn't mentally ill, so why would he make himself suffer?
Jiang Bai didn't need to say anything; the other party would understand. It was an unspoken understanding. Didn't they always use "entering the domain" instead of "entering the residence"?
"Master, do you think I'm stupid?"
Bayantler looked at Jiang Bai in astonishment, and finally an expression appeared on his face, breaking his calm and composed demeanor.
Jiang Bai's sudden remark caught him off guard.
"Benefactor, what do you mean by that? This humble monk doesn't quite understand."
Bayantler took a deep breath and spoke in a deep voice to Jiang Bai in front of him, his eyes flickering, and it was unclear what he was thinking. In any case, Jiang Bai had shattered his calm and composed mind.
"You have been following Living Buddha Abu Danzeng for so many years. He is a powerful and influential figure who can suppress the universe. He has profound cultivation and great prestige. He said he would step down and give way to a more worthy person, but do you all submit to me or him?"
"If I really agree to your request, I will become your puppet. Besides finding a successor you are satisfied with to inherit the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill in the future, what use will I be?"
"This deal isn't worth it!"
Jiang Bai had his reasons. People's hearts are unpredictable. It wasn't that he thought others were sinister, but it was simply a fact that couldn't be ignored.
"This… benefactor, we can help you improve your skills."
After a moment's hesitation, Bayantler said in a deep voice.
This is one of his last trump cards.
When he arrived, some Dharma Kings and Gurus suggested to him that he could tell Jiang Bai that women were not forbidden here.
Jiang Bai is a lecherous man, and they can provide him with several holy maidens.
Some people also told him that Jiang Bai was greedy and that the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain had many treasures, and that he could be offered one or two treasures.
However, he and Abu Danzeng Rinpoche rejected all of these, as these petty gains would be attractive to greedy people.
However, for someone as wealthy, powerful, young, and highly skilled as Jiang Bai, it was not enough to sway his interest.
Therefore, the Living Buddha personally spoke up, promising that if all the above methods failed, he would use his last trump card, open the treasure vault, and help Jiang Bai improve his skills.
Although they faced considerable opposition, under the Living Buddha's pressure, everyone had no choice but to remain silent and compromise.
"Enhance my power? In other words, you can help me increase my strength? By how much?" Jiang Bai narrowed his eyes.
Undoubtedly, he was truly moved at that moment.
For someone like Jiang Bai, money and beautiful women are certainly tempting, but these days, the only thing that can truly move him and make him risk his life is strength.
Chapter 673 Enhancing the Benefactor's Strength
"I don't know, but as long as you agree to our conditions, take over the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, and select a suitable successor for the Lingjiu Palace to pass on the 'Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill', then we will open the Lingjiu Palace's treasure trove to enhance your skills."
When Bayantele mentioned the treasure trove of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, his face was filled with solemnity and reverence, which showed the extraordinary nature of this place.
Their Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain has a history of thousands of years. It was once extremely glorious, surpassing all other schools of Tantric Buddhism, and could be called the king of Tantric Buddhism.
It ruled over the entire Tibetan region and even extended its influence to neighboring countries.
Over the years, numerous masters and geniuses have emerged. None of these people had descendants. The treasures they acquired were all placed in the Great Snow Mountain Treasury after their passing. Over the years, this treasury has accumulated countless treasures, becoming the most important place in the entire Lingjiu Palace.
After the transmission of the sect's ultimate martial art, "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill," was cut off, the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain has been able to survive to this day and even cultivate a peerless master like the Living Buddha Abudanzeng, all thanks to its treasured treasury.
This was the highest price he could offer.
"How much will it improve?" Jiang Bai asked, his eyes wide.
That's what he cares about most, not Bayantler's nonsense.
"Everyone's destiny is different, and the Buddha has set his own limits. As for how much he will improve, please forgive me for not being able to answer. However, back then, it was actually impossible for the Living Buddha Abu Danzeng to break through his current level and become a true peerless master."
"The previous Living Buddha master used the treasure trove to retrieve the secret treasures within, which helped Living Buddha Abu Danzeng break through."
"The Living Buddha said that his natural talents are not as good as yours. If you agree to our conditions and become the master of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, and continue the lineage, you will not only be able to freely allocate the power of Lingjiu Palace, but also be able to enter the treasure vault."
"The Living Buddha guarantees that he can at least raise your power to the level of Martial King, making you a true ancient martial arts practitioner. If the time is right, you might even be able to reach a higher level."
Abudanzin looked at Jiang Bai in front of him and gave a clear answer to Jiang Bai's words.
The euphemism was that Jiang Bai was being told that if he agreed, the Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain could elevate him to the ranks of unparalleled masters, making him a Martial King like the ancient martial artists, Yang Wudi, and Nangong Xinghuo, who could crush everything.
Is this true?
Now, Jiang Bai was truly tempted. His eyes flashed with excitement, and he almost immediately agreed.
He has been stuck at this level for quite some time. For an ordinary person, it would only be a few months, and they wouldn't even have a stable level yet, so naturally they wouldn't be in a hurry to break through.
Jiang Bai overcame numerous obstacles and progressed too quickly, which made him unwilling to remain confined to his current realm and unwilling to linger among the ranks of top-tier experts for several years.
Although a few years of wandering is just a fleeting moment for ordinary people, with the right cultivation techniques, one could break through from a top-level expert to a peerless expert and become a Martial King within ten years—that would be a truly extraordinary talent.
Jiang Bai didn't want to wait. He was eager to break through because he had too many enemies and a mission to destroy the Assassin Alliance, which forced him to look for an opportunity to break through.
This is undoubtedly an excellent opportunity.
After Abu Danzeng presented this condition, he almost agreed immediately.
Isn't it just about passing on the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill to them?
What good would it do to pass it on to them?
This isn't something you can easily cultivate.
There are plenty of excellent cultivation techniques. The Nangong family also has the tenth level of the Vermilion Bird Burning Heaven Technique, but they don't have a genius like Yang Wudi. What good is having a cultivation technique if they don't have one?
Aside from the extraordinary talents from past generations buried in the ice coffin, what can people like the head of the Nangong family do, even if they possess unparalleled martial arts skills?
The Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill is far more difficult to cultivate than the Vermilion Bird Burning Heaven Technique. Those old monks who want to cultivate it are simply delusional; those who are half-buried in the ground simply don't have the time.
As for the others, what can they do even if they have this technique?
It's just a legacy; how could it possibly threaten Jiang Bai?
Therefore, Jiang Bai considered this deal extremely worthwhile. Not to mention the Thirteenth Level of Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique, even giving the other party the subsequent five levels that Jiang Bai knew of would not be a problem.
Even if you gave them to them, they would never be able to cultivate to that level.
Jiang Bai, on the other hand, gained the benefit of raising his cultivation level by one level, which was a qualitative change.
Once Jiang Bai reaches the Martial King level and becomes a genuine ancient martial artist, he will truly be fearless.
If Apson dares to talk to me like he did last time when we go to Country A again, I'll crush those two SSS-level superhumans in no time.
Jiang Bai dares to venture into the lair of the Assassin Alliance without hesitation.
However, Jiang Bai ultimately held back. Although he had already agreed in his heart, he still appeared hesitant and pondered, "I need to think about it."
This is a basic negotiation skill. Jiang Bai is not good at it, but he is not completely ignorant of it either. If he agrees immediately, wouldn't that make people look down on him?
Moreover, Jiang Bai had other ideas. By letting Bayantele cool off, he might be able to extract some other benefits.
"In that case, I will wait quietly outside the door for your reply."
Upon hearing this, Bayantele stood up, clasped his hands together, bowed to Jiang Bai, and then turned to leave.
They prepared to sit quietly outside the door and wait for Jiang Bai's reply.
"Master, you are a guest, how can you continue to sit outside? My men were ignorant before, I hope you will not take offense. I will think it over for a while, why don't you go to the guest room and rest for a while? You must be tired after being exposed to wind and rain for so many days."
"Eat something, take a shower, and get some sleep. I'll give you a definite answer tomorrow. Whether it works or not, I'll give the master a word."
Jiang Bai stopped Bayantele. He had already agreed to the matter in his heart. From now on, Bayantele would be one of his own. He would not be able to control the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain without Bayantele's help. Jiang Bai would naturally not treat him badly.
Besides, this is basic courtesy. Even if the deal falls through, goodwill can still be maintained. Bayantele is no country bumpkin who popped out of some mountain ditch. He is one of the four Dharma Kings of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, a genuine top-notch expert, and one of the most powerful among them.
Jiang Bai could tell that he was different from the head of the Nangong family; he had genuinely cultivated himself to this level.
Such people deserve to be treated with respect, no matter where they are.
Before this, Xiao Tian and the others didn't know the situation and could tolerate being mistreated. But now that Jiang Bai knows their identities, how can they let them sit at the door and wait all day?
If this gets out, how will Jiang Bai ever be able to face people again?
Chapter 674 You should thank me instead
Bayantler did not refuse Jiang Bai's suggestion. After a moment of silence, he nodded, which was considered as tacit approval.
He is not a rigid person.
On the contrary, among the four Dharma Kings, he was the most worldly-wise.
I am also quite flexible and adaptable, otherwise I wouldn't have been entrusted with such an important task by Abu Danzeng Rinpoche, who made a special trip to see Jiang Bai and persuade him to take over Lingjiu Palace and leave behind his legacy.
He wouldn't refuse Jiang Bai's kindness.
After bowing and taking his leave, Bayantler left the study. Jiang Bai pondered for a moment and then dialed Yang Wudi's number.
First and foremost, Jiang Bai wanted to get to know this scoundrel who betrayed his friends for personal gain. Secondly, and most importantly, Jiang Bai wanted to hear what kind of opinion Yang Wudi had.
Compared to Yang Wudi, Jiang Bai subconsciously felt that Cheng Tiangang was more reliable.
However, Cheng Tiangang certainly couldn't offer a reasonable opinion on this matter. Martial arts matters should be settled within the martial arts world; those in the martial arts world know best.
Yang Wudi was undoubtedly the one who knew the most.
"Jiang Bai, did the King of Bayantele see you?"
The call connected, and before Jiang Bai could speak, Yang Wudi spoke first.
One sentence rendered Jiang Bai's prepared explanation completely useless. After a moment of silence, he said coldly, "I thought you would tell me you didn't know about this."
"Hehe, we each got what we wanted. The two follow-up techniques of the 'Azure Wolf Devouring Heaven Technique' are only kept by the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. As far as I know, the person who once owned this technique died at the hands of the Lingjiu Palace more than a hundred years ago."
"I have been stuck in this realm, wanting to break through, but I am helpless. I went to Lingjiu Palace twice, but I was rejected both times. They said that this technique is also very important to them, and more importantly, it is a treasure of our ancestors and cannot be revealed to outsiders."
"I can disregard the others, but the key is that they have the Living Buddha Abu Danzeng in charge. Although this old guy rarely leaves the Great Snow Mountain, the last time he came out was thirty years ago."
"But his strength is undeniable. He's a peerless master, a contemporary Martial King. I definitely can't beat him. If I keep waiting, I don't know how long I'll have to wait."
"So, after thinking it over, I gave them your information. Anyway, they didn't mean any harm."
"That's it?" Jiang Bai replied in a strange tone. This guy didn't even apologize?
Does this mean you feel quite at ease doing it?
On what grounds? Just because he's Yang Wudi?
"What else can we do?" Yang Wudi asked, puzzled.
However, after saying that, he immediately added, "You want me to apologize to you? Although I told them about you, as far as I know, they didn't mean to make things difficult for you. On the contrary, they will give you a lot of benefits."
"It is said that Abu Danzeng is preparing to let you inherit the position of master of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. It's a pity that you are not a lama monk or a Tibetan. Otherwise, you might have been able to obtain the title of Living Buddha."
"The Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain has a history of thousands of years and its strength is no less than that of the four great families and several major sects. Hundreds of years ago, it once competed with the heroes of the Central Plains. Although it has declined now, it still has a profound foundation."
"Once you become the master of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, your power will skyrocket. From now on, even I will have to give you some leeway when I see you. Tsk tsk, one peerless master, four top-grade masters, and eight first-grade peak masters—anyone would be envious of that kind of power."
"Moreover, I heard that in order to win you over, Abudanzeng is preparing to open the treasure vault of Lingjiu Palace for you and help you improve your strength. Perhaps, the next time we meet, you will already be a peerless master and have become a Martial King."
"You expect me to apologize for this? I feel like you should be thanking me."
Yang Wudi ignored Jiang Bai's sneer and responded with amusement, clearly in a good mood.
He betrayed his father and even made it sound so plausible?
And you want me to thank you?
How can you be even more shameless than Li Qingdi?
Jiang Bai only thought about these words. He dared to say them to Cheng Tiangang and even dared to point his finger at Li Qingdi, but he would never dare to curse Yang Wudi like that.
The reason is simple: he can't beat them.
Unfortunately, Yang Wudi is someone who always lets his fists do the talking.
Like Jiang Bai, if he can't win an argument, he'll definitely resort to fists. But the problem is that Jiang Bai's fists aren't as hard as Yang Wudi's.
"It seems you know quite a bit. How do you know this is a benefit and not a trap?"
"With so many experts there, if I go over there, even without Abu Danzeng, the Living Buddha, lifting a finger, the four Dharma Kings and eight great masters could easily surround and kill me. If I agree to that, I'll be like a lamb entering a tiger's den."
"If you don't agree, you know how fierce they are. The Living Buddha hasn't left the Great Snow Mountain for thirty years. However, their ultimate martial art, the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, is in my hands. Abu Danzeng might just go for it."
"You'll have to shield me from the bullet then!"
Jiang Bai responded coldly, dismissing Yang Wudi's words with disdain, and his attitude showed no sign of improvement.
"Alright, I'll help you fend them off. As long as you tell me right now that you won't agree to their demands, I'll personally make a trip to the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. I wasn't as strong as him before, but now my cultivation level is stable."
"No matter how powerful Abudanzin is, he's old. I, Yang Wudi, am not so weak that I can't even beat a man in his nineties. As for the others, they're nothing but scoundrels. I'll stand up for you and go to them. I'll make it clear to them that if you, Jiang Bai, are not happy, and they dare to cause you trouble in the future, I'll raze the Lingjiu Palace on the Great Snow Mountain."
Are you satisfied with this?
Unexpectedly, Yang Wudi immediately responded seriously, his tone aggressive, as if Jiang Bai's words would send him to the Tibetan snow mountain to raze the Lingjiu Palace in one fell swoop.
"Forehead..."
This put Jiang Bai in a difficult position, and his aggressive voice came to an abrupt halt.
You're kidding me, I want to say yes!
This is a great opportunity to improve your skills. If you miss it, you won't have such a good opportunity again. Don't let this chance slip away.
How could Jiang Bai let this go so easily?
Even if it's dangerous, it's worth it to become a peerless master.
"What, you're unwilling? It seems you're still tempted by their offer. If that's the case, what right do you have to blame me?"
"I'm helping you out. Otherwise, even if you're incredibly talented, you shouldn't even think about joining the ranks of top masters in just a few years."
"Oh, by the way, you are practicing the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, the most time-consuming legendary skill. If you can break through it within ten years on your own, I will take your surname Jiang."
Yang Wudi's words made Jiang Bai's face turn red.
To be honest, if he relied on his own cultivation without using the system, he might not be able to break through in eight or ten years.
Chapter 675 It's better to do it sooner rather than later
His talent might actually be exceptional, but he only achieved his current success thanks to the system.
Along with his cultivation level, his aptitude has improved significantly, but he is still not among the very best. He cannot compare to Yang Wudi or the eminent monk and Dharma King of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain in history.
As for why the other party was a Dharma King rather than a Living Buddha, Jiang Bai had no way of knowing.
"We'll talk about this later. Just tell me, is this reliable or not?"
Jiang Bai was too lazy to argue with Yang Wudi. If the other party came to his door to cause trouble, Jiang Bai could immediately start cursing at Yang Wudi. If the other party came to threaten him, Jiang Bai could also criticize Yang Wudi.
But since the other party came to his door, it was clear that they were offering benefits, making Jiang Bai's accusations seem somewhat weak and powerless.
"Reliable. I know Abu Danzeng. The old Living Buddha is highly accomplished and can be considered a centenarian. He would not stoop to such underhanded methods."
"Besides, I've told them about your situation. He doesn't have many days left to live. He won't make such a genius as you his mortal enemy for the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain just because of a book called 'Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill'."
"Besides, he also knows that I have now broken through to a higher realm, and even if he fights me to the death, he can't beat me. After all, he's old, and youth has the upper hand!"
"Would you do something so foolish as to let an entire lineage be severed for the sake of a secret manual?"
Yang Wudi's words made it very clear that he would fully support Jiang Bai in this matter, and that he would take action if the other party dared to harm him.
This is likely because he sold Jiang Bai's information to the other party.
Jiang Bai also understood that since he said that, he must have communicated with the other party in advance, and might even have contacted the other party and communicated with them as soon as he became the Martial King.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have said that to himself.
"So, does that mean I can now accept everything without worry?"
Yang Wudi's explanation calmed Jiang Bai down a bit. With such a powerful figure standing behind him, Jiang Bai felt confident and forgave Yang Wudi for betraying his information.
In fact, Jiang Bai wasn't particularly angry when the other party explained their purpose.
If the other party was willing to tell him that Yang Wudi had revealed the information, then it must have been with Yang Wudi's tacit approval. Yang Wudi had calculated that Jiang Bai would not hold a grudge because of this, which is why he allowed the other party to reveal it.
Otherwise, if Bayantler hadn't said anything, how could Jiang Bai have known, how could he have imagined, that Yang Wudi had so cleanly and efficiently sold him out?
"That's not necessarily true!"
After a moment of silence, Yang Wudi spoke slowly.
What do you mean?
Jiang Bai was taken aback. Wasn't he told that he was completely out of danger?
Didn't your boss just say he'd back me up? And the Living Buddha isn't a treacherous villain, so this is a sure thing, right?
Why the sudden change of topic and this statement?
"The two people who support your entry into the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain are Bayantele and Abu Danzeng Living Buddha. Leaving aside the neutral one, the other two Dharma Kings are actually against your entry into the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain."
"They have great prestige and power in the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. The Living Buddha Abu Danzeng is too old and can no longer handle many things. Twenty years ago, he had already delegated the affairs to the Four Dharma Kings."
"These two men have far greater power and influence than Bayantler."
"If it weren't for the Living Buddha Abudanzeng's insistence on everything and suppressing them, you would probably be facing not Bayantele, the persuader, but all the experts from the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain."
"So if you're going to Tibet this time, you'd better be careful."
After thinking for a moment, Yang Wudi told him what he knew.
The Human Group is responsible for monitoring all ancient martial arts practitioners in the world, including sects and families. Although the Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain is secluded and does not appear in the world, its strength is undeniable, and the Human Group has never relaxed its intelligence on them.
Yang Wudi knew very well what was happening inside, and what he was telling Jiang Bai now was information revealed by a spy planted by the Human Group in the Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain.
"You mean they're going to attack me?"
Jiang Bai was incredibly clever and quick-witted; he understood immediately. As soon as Yang Wudi finished speaking, Jiang Bai knew what he meant.
"I'm not sure, but as long as Abu Danzeng Rinpoche is still alive, they won't dare to do anything reckless. At most, they'll just make some small moves."
"But Abudanzin is in poor health. He is already 98 years old and is nearing the end of his life. He may pass away at any time. Once he is gone, the situation will immediately reverse. Bayantele will not be able to stop the two of them from joining forces."
"At that time, you won't be thinking about how to take over the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, but how to stop so many experts from attacking."
"Therefore, this matter should be handled sooner rather than later. You'd better make a decision as soon as possible and set off quickly."
Yang Wudi gave his opinion, which was all he had to say to Jiang Bai. He told Jiang Bai everything he knew and his thoughts without reservation.
These words silenced Jiang Bai. He had originally planned to wait a while before setting off, but now, judging from Yang Wudi's words, the sooner the better.
Delay may lead to unforeseen changes?
Jiang Bai scoffed at this: "Without Abu Danzeng Living Buddha, the rest of them are just a bunch of idiots. Unless they all come at once, I'm really not afraid of them."
He was confident in his strength. Even if he couldn't defeat four people attacking him, he could still escape safely. Without the words of Abu Danzeng Living Buddha, Jiang Bai was not afraid of the Dharma Kings of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain.
Jiang Bai was already at the very top of this hierarchy. In terms of strength and defense, he was only slightly weaker than Yang Wudi, but a level above the average top expert.
Moreover, Jiang Bai also possesses the heaven-defying "Tiger Soul" sword, whose seven limits are fierce and boundless.
Jiang Bai didn't even consider the Dharma Kings of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain a threat.
What truly terrified Jiang Bai about the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, besides the Living Buddha Abudanzeng, was the hidden methods that he didn't know whether they existed or not.
"Jiang Bai, you're thinking too simply. Lingjiu Palace can help you break through to the ranks of peerless masters, so why can't others? To be honest, they can help anyone who has cultivated to the highest level break through to the ranks of peerless masters."
"Those aristocratic families and powerful clans used ice burial coffins to hide the geniuses and experts of past generations as a talisman for their clans and sects. How could Lingjiu Palace, a powerful force that can compete with them in the Central Plains, not have any trump cards?"
"If Abudanzeng dies, they will immediately use their power to open the treasure vault, using the pretext of reclaiming the 'Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill' to enhance themselves. At that time, you will be facing two Martial Kings!"
Jiang Bai's words made Yang Wudi smile wryly and say helplessly.
Chapter 676 Departure
"Forehead..."
Jiang Bai's voice stopped abruptly. After a pause, he said in a deep voice, "I understand. I will do it as soon as possible."
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Bai sat alone in his room, deep in thought, weighing the pros and cons.
Although Yang Wudi offered his suggestion, and Jiang Bai was quite interested, he still needed to consider it carefully before making a decision.
An hour later, Jiang Bai walked out of his room, found Bayantele who was having a meal, and said in a deep voice, "I agree to your conditions, but I will not stay in Lingjiu Palace from now on."
"That's natural. After you take over Lingjiu Palace, you don't have to follow the rules. In fact, Lingjiu Palace has never had a rule that restricts the master of Lingjiu Palace from leaving. The Living Buddha is unwilling to leave because that is the paradise of his soul."
"You can choose where you want to be, as long as you take action when Lingjiu Palace is in danger. Of course... if you choose a successor, he must cultivate in Lingjiu Palace for a long time."
Bayantler smiled slightly, nodded to Jiang Bai, and accepted Jiang Bai's suggestion. He understood Jiang Bai's meaning, so he even changed his form of address.
However, he also gave Jiang Bai a condition: if Jiang Bai chooses a successor in the future, that person must cultivate at the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain.
Just thinking about it, being stuck in that place year-round, living in seclusion deep in the mountains, Jiang Bai felt a chill run down his spine. This was a trap for the child!
Jiang Bai was even considering whether he had a grudge against some bastard and should take his son over.
Thinking about it this way, Yang Wudi's son doesn't seem so bad...
However, that guy is a bit old, so he probably doesn't want to be my disciple. Besides, the old monks of Lingjiu Palace don't dare to provoke Yang Wudi.
Since that's the case, then let's go with Li Qingdi. After all, Jiang Bai doesn't like him.
Although he does not have a son now.
However, unless he doesn't get married, Jiang Bai is determined to pass on the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill" to his son.
If he can truly remain unmarried for the rest of his life, Jiang Bai will find a child from Li Er's family.
Anyway, we need to send one member of the Li family over.
When do we depart?
Jiang Bai's words indicated that he had agreed. Yang Wudi had said that it was better to do it sooner rather than later, so Jiang Bai naturally wouldn't hesitate.
"This... the sooner the better, but I can wait for you. However, I hope it won't take too much time. The Living Buddha's health is already very weak. He even fell ill recently, which was the first time he had been sick in his ninety-eight years of life. If it weren't for that, I would have come long ago."
Bayantler really wanted Jiang Bai to hurry up, but he didn't dare to push him too hard. After hesitating for a moment, he said this.
After saying that, he stared at Jiang Bai with his dark, round eyes without saying a word, but his meaning was clear: he hoped Jiang Bai would hurry up.
"Xiao Tian, tell them that I need to go out again. Please take care of things at home. When others see me, don't tell them where I went. I'm going to Tibet with the master."
Jiang Bai nodded, then called out to Xiao Tian, who was not far away.
Xiao Tian nodded immediately, and Jiang Bai and Bayantele walked out of the room together.
Tell Tiandu Airlines to help them find another crew, and they will depart in half an hour.
In addition, Jiang Bai needed to bring two off-road vehicles. He didn't want to end up in Tibet and have to ride in an oxcart to the snowy mountains with Bayantele.
When Jiang Bai and Bayantele headed to the airport, Jiang Bai casually asked him how he got there. Bayantele told Jiang Bai that he had walked for two days and traveled by oxcart for three days to reach the nearby villages and towns.
From there, they traveled for a day by tractor before finally getting on a car and then a train to Tiandu.
The process was comparable to the Long March, and Jiang Bai did not want to follow Bayantele on the Long March again, so he asked Xiao Tian to arrange for a car to be loaded onto the plane. The plane was also equipped with navigation, satellite phone, food, medicine and many other items.
Even thermal clothing, ropes, hiking boots, and oxygen cylinders were all provided.
Those who knew Jiang Bai went into Tibet with Bayantele, but those who didn't would have thought Jiang Bai was climbing Mount Everest alone.
Jiang Bai was dumbfounded when he saw all these things. The two vehicles were filled to the brim with bags and packages, and there were two sets of everything, one in each of the two huge military extreme off-road vehicles.
He didn't blame Xiao Tian, but he felt the guy was exaggerating. Was it really necessary? These things?
"Is it necessary to prepare so much?" Jiang Bai couldn't help but ask.
"Better safe than sorry. I've never been to that place before, but I've heard it's quite dangerous, so I prepared extra supplies. I was originally thinking of giving you a bundle of guns, but I figured with your skills you probably wouldn't need those things, so I just got two Desert Eagles and put them in the passenger seat."
When Jiang Bai asked a question, Xiao Tian quickly came over and answered respectfully, without changing his expression at all.
Jiang Bai was speechless at this.
They flew directly to Tibet and arrived at the ancient city of Sara a few hours later. Without lingering there, they sped off southwest, following Bayantele's directions.
On the sparsely populated plateau, Jiang Bai recklessly stepped on the gas pedal, speeding towards the small town near the snow-capped mountains on the border that Bayantele had mentioned.
Jiang Bai originally had no idea what the Great Snow Mountain was. He had only heard them talk about it, so he had no concept of it. He thought it was just a snow mountain, since there were plenty of snow mountains in Tibet.
But after the other party pointed out the exact location, Jiang Bai looked very strange and marveled at Xiao Tian's foresight, because this snow mountain was actually the Himalayas, but not the bustling Mount Everest, but one of the less conspicuous peaks hidden among the mountains.
There, including the small town at the foot of the mountain, has been under the rule of the Lingjiu Palace of the Great Snow Mountain for generations.
It's just that with the progress of the times, many people are unaware of this.
After a day's journey, Jiang Bai arrived at the small town that Bayantele had mentioned. He found a guy who was loyal to the Great Snow Mountain, or perhaps was originally a subordinate of the Lingjiu Palace, and parked the car at his house.
Jiang Bai and Bayantele headed to Lingjiu Palace together.
It's not that I don't want to drive anymore, but the road ahead is blocked. There are no roads at all. You can't even use an oxcart except on foot, because the mountains are rolling and many places require climbing on your own.
Without roads, most people would be daunted by the sight of those cliffs, let alone be able to climb and traverse them.
The fact that Lingjiu Palace in Daxueshan has not been seen by the public for many years is largely due to its polar environment.
Aside from true experts, it's really difficult for ordinary people to reach this place, even if you know the location.
Chapter 677 Sisanger
Jiang Bai followed Bayantele for a long time, crossing towering mountains and steep ridges. It took them two full days to travel such a distance, which shows how treacherous the road was.
There is actually no path at all; it's all cliffs and precipices. It would be really difficult for ordinary people to get through, and even those with some strength have to be careful as they climb the mountains and rocks.
For ordinary people, don't even think about it.
During this time, Jiang Bai also asked Bayantele why Lingjiu Palace was built in such a godforsaken place.
How do they live their daily lives?
Bayantler smiled but remained silent. However, Jiang Bai soon found out because he saw a valley nestled among the mountains, where people lived, with more than a dozen villages of varying sizes scattered throughout.
Their appearance and clothing still clearly reflect the ancient style, making it easy to imagine that these people were almost completely isolated from the world.
Jiang Bai opened his mouth but didn't say anything. He knew that these people were probably the source of Lingjiu Palace's food and clothing.
As for whether Lingjiu Palace would contact the outside world, whether these people were truly isolated from the world, or whether there were other ways out among these mountains, Jiang Bai did not ask.
What's the point of asking or not asking?
This matter has absolutely nothing to do with Jiang Bai.
As they passed through the village road at the bottom of the valley, people kept bowing and greeting Bayantele. Even Jiang Bai was bowed to. Bayantele smiled but remained silent.
Soon they came to a snow-capped mountain at the end of the valley. Under the sunlight, they could vaguely see a magnificent palace on the mountaintop.
Fortunately, it is hidden among the mountains, and the peaks are not very high. Otherwise, this magnificent palace alone would have been enough to astound countless people.
The palace atop this mountain is magnificent and imposing, rivaling even the Potala Palace in grandeur.
Golden glazed tiles cover the top, and the deep red walls are as bright as the sun.
Layer upon layer of steps lead from the foot of the mountain to the top, and it's unknown how Lingjiu Palace was originally built.
It must have taken a tremendous amount of manpower and resources, yet there is no record of it in history, which makes Jiang Bai sigh that the world is full of wonders.
There are countless hidden places in this world that we have no idea about.
"King Bayan!"
Bayantele led Jiang Bai toward the mountaintop. At the foot of the mountain, eight burly lamas stood to the left and right, each holding a vajra, gong, ram, and long knife. Upon seeing Bayantele, they all knelt down.
Ignoring them, Bayantele led Jiang Bai upwards.
Half an hour later, after climbing many steps, Jiang Bai finally saw the so-called Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace, a magnificent building.
Two golden vultures stood at the palace gate, wings outstretched as if about to take flight. Their enormous bodies were cast from pure gold, gleaming brilliantly in the sunlight, creating a striking contrast with the pristine white snow.
The main gate is inscribed with Tibetan characters: "Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace"
"Please wait a moment, I will go find the Living Buddha."
Following the other party into Lingjiu Palace, in the central hall where countless Buddha statues stood, Bayantele bowed to Jiang Bai and said.
He told Jiang Bai to wait while he went to find the Living Buddha Abu Danzeng and reported Jiang Bai's arrival.
This can be considered a handover of duties. As for what happens next, that's up to Abudanzeng Rinpoche and Jiang Bai.
"No need to trouble the Living Buddha. He is unwell and has no time to see this Han Chinese."
Before Bayantler could leave, a deep voice appeared in Jiang Bai's ears, and a middle-aged man in his fifties, with skin and beard as dark as his, wearing a red lama robe, appeared in front of Jiang Bai and the others.
The man was tall and strong. If it weren't for his aged face, it would be hard to guess his actual age. He looked to be in his fifties, but his exposed arms still had bulging veins and were full of muscles. It was hard to tell how he had built them.
"Sisanger! What do you mean by this? This is the future master of our Lingjiu Palace, a guest invited by the Living Buddha. You cannot speak to your master like this! Otherwise, the Living Buddha will punish you!"
"Even though you are one of the Four Great Dharma Kings, you still have to abide by the rules of Lingjiu Palace. The master is supreme, and no one can change that!"
Upon seeing the other party arrive, Bayantler's expression immediately changed, and he responded with a somewhat gloomy tone.
He stared intently at the other person, his anger flashing frequently, completely ignoring the people behind him.
These dozen or so people looked strong and well-equipped, but they were nothing but empty shells. They might be considered experts by ordinary people, but they were completely negligible to people of their level.
"Master? How come I didn't know that Lingjiu Palace had other masters? There is only one master here, and that is the Living Buddha Abu Danzeng!"
"As long as the Living Buddha is alive, Lingjiu Palace is his place, and he is the master of this place!"
"If the Living Buddha were to pass away one day, he would designate a new successor to become the master of Lingjiu Palace before returning to the embrace of the Buddha. That person is the one we truly need to be loyal to, and that person... will definitely not be a Han Chinese!"
Xisanger's face darkened upon hearing this, and he sneered repeatedly. As he spoke, he looked Jiang Bai up and down, a fierce glint in his eyes.
Those who come with ill intentions do not come with good intentions. When Jiang Bai saw the other party, his heart sank.
Yang Wudi had told him that of the four Dharma Kings, only Bayantele supported him, the other one was supposedly neutral but was actually a fence-sitter, and the other two were staunchly opposed to him. Jiang Bai knew without a doubt that the Dharma King in front of him, Sisanger, must be one of the two Dharma Kings who opposed him.
Jiang Bai didn't know how they were ranked, whether they were equals or there was a specific order, and he didn't care about any of that.
What he really cares about is the status quo.
Yang Wudi said that these two people were clearly against him, but Abudanzeng Rinpoche strongly suppressed them and passed the proposal to invite him.
This led to the story of Bayantele traveling to Tiandu and sitting cross-legged in front of his own house for nine days and nine nights.
Logically speaking, as long as the Living Buddha is alive, they wouldn't dare to do anything to him or openly oppose him. In the current situation, the other party is practically ready to stand up and point their finger at him, ready to start a war.
What does this mean?
This means something has happened to the Living Buddha!
Even if he didn't pass away, something serious must have happened, and he couldn't concern himself with the internal affairs of Lingjiu Palace anymore. Otherwise, he would never have jumped out so easily.
Only when they realize that the Living Buddha can no longer suppress them will they openly oppose the Living Buddha's previous policies and begin targeting them.
"Has something really happened to the Living Buddha?"
The other party's attitude spoke volumes. Bayantler's expression suddenly changed, and he asked with an extremely gloomy face.
Chapter 678 The Living Buddha is in Trouble
"Hey, don't worry, the Living Buddha just had a relapse of his old illness. After all, he is already ninety-eight years old. Although he is very strong, he still can't resist the effects of aging. His old illness relapsed three days ago."
"But these are not the main things. We have something more important to do now."
Sisanger glanced at Jiang Bai with a cold smile, then ignored Bayantler and roared at his men, "Arrest him!"
"Stop! Sisanger, do you know what you're doing?! This is the Living Buddha's guest, the inheritor of our supreme scripture, the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, and the master of our Vulture Palace. How dare you instruct someone to attack him?"
"Are you trying to rebel?"
Bayantler stared coldly at Sisanger in front of him, his tone sharp and unyielding. As he spoke, he stepped forward to block Jiang Bai's path, displaying an air of determination to defend Jiang Bai to the death.
"Rebellion? No... I'm not rebelling! I will not rebel!"
Sisanger shook his head, denying Bayantler's accusations.
"Then why don't you tell your people to back off immediately? You should know that Jiang Bai's master was personally appointed by the Living Buddha. You and Sangna were both there when the Living Buddha said those words that day. All four of us Dharma Kings were gathered together. The Living Buddha spoke those words himself. Have you forgotten?"
"How dare you send someone to attack Benefactor Jiang? What's the difference between this and rebellion? Do you intend to take advantage of the Living Buddha's poor health to cause trouble?"
Bayantler responded coldly, hoping to scare the other party away.
Actually, he wasn't afraid of Xisanger. Their strengths were roughly equal. He was slightly older and weaker, but his cultivation was slightly higher. The two had fought before, and he had even won against Xisanger.
Although it was only by a narrow margin, he had still defeated Sisanger, so he was not afraid of the person in front of him.
What truly terrified him was another one: Sangena, who never appeared.
Both Sangena and Sisanger were staunchly opposed to their own words and the Living Buddha's words at the time, but they were suppressed by the Living Buddha.
Sanghana, who became a guru at the age of thirty and a Dharma King at the age of forty, has been in power in the Vulture Palace of the Great Snow Mountain for twenty years. His prestige and strength far surpass those of others.
Before Jiang Bai appeared, everyone knew that Sangna Dharma King was the next Living Buddha and the next master of Lingjiu Palace. Even when facing Sangna, he was extremely respectful.
Sissanger was nothing more than Sangener's dog.
Of course, this dog is very fierce and strong, second only to its owner.
"Forgot? Of course not. The Living Buddha said that for the future of our Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace, and for the Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace to find the lost 'Dragon Elephant Prajna Kung Fu,' we must bow down to this Han dog."
"We might even invite him back to be the master of Lingjiu Palace, and let him choose a disciple to re-enter Lingjiu Palace in the future, where he can cultivate and grow, and complete our inheritance by practicing the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill."
"I am aware of all of this, and I have heard it. However, I also remember that His Holiness Sanghna Rinpoche and I strongly opposed it at the time!"
"It's you, it's Bayantele, you traitor! In order to bring back the Han dogs to carry out your nefarious conspiracy, you used sweet words to deceive the Living Buddha!"
"I'm going to capture this traitor today. I refuse to believe that he won't reveal the secrets of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill with our methods!"
Sisanger said with a ferocious expression. After he finished speaking, not only him, but also the dozen or so people around him looked indignant.
The Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain has been passed down for thousands of years, and it has always been dominated by Tibetans. Now, Bayantele has actually chosen Jiang Bai, a Han Chinese, to inherit the Lingjiu Palace. In their eyes, this is a great insult to their Tibetan region.
This is a tremendous insult to these people, and it absolutely cannot be tolerated.
This is also the fundamental reason why Xisanger and his group opposed it; they could not accept Jiang Bai, a Han Chinese, leading them and becoming the master of Lingjiu Palace.
No matter the reason, it won't work.
Of course, there was a little bit of personal motive hidden in this.
He has always had a good relationship with Sangena, and he is much younger than Sangena and others. Once Sangena becomes the Living Buddha, he will be the number one Dharma King in the true sense.
Perhaps he will be chosen as Sanghana's successor and one day become the master of Lingjiu Palace.
This was something he had planned years ago, and it was also the root cause of his meticulous efforts to follow Sangena, which led to him being secretly mocked as a vicious dog by the other two.
Everything was going smoothly. The Living Buddha was already ninety-eight years old, quite old, and nearing the end of his life. Sangna was about to take over, and had even made preparations and promised him that once he became the Living Buddha, he would immediately go into seclusion to improve his cultivation, and let Xisangna preside over the entire Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain.
However, they encountered Jiang Bai, a dark horse who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, who possessed the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill," which made the Living Buddha change his mind and actually want to bring him in to become the next master.
He even broke the rules to designate a successor before he had completely passed away.
This infuriated him and Sangner.
However, due to the authority of the Living Buddha, they were powerless to resist.
One cannot become a peerless master until one becomes the master of Lingjiu Palace.
If one is not a peerless master, how can one resist the Living Buddha?
Even if the Living Buddha was on his deathbed, even if he was exhausted, he was still a peerless master. With a wave of his hand, he could kill him and Sangna.
Faced with a Living Buddha with a tough stance, what can they do besides shut up and compromise?
When the Living Buddha sent Bayantele, they all thought all hope was lost, as the other party could not possibly refuse such favorable conditions.
But as the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. Not long after Bayantele left, the Living Buddha fell ill again, and three days ago, a serious problem arose, forcing him to entrust all affairs to Sangena once more.
With the Living Buddha in a deep sleep and Sangena in control, if they don't deal with Jiang Bai now, when will they?
Xisanger's words caused Bayantler's expression to change drastically. He growled in a low voice, "I want to see the Living Buddha and have him punish you!"
"Don't do anything reckless, or you'll be in big trouble if the Living Buddha finds out!"
"Hehe, that depends on whether the Living Buddha can wake up!" With a chuckle, Xisanger showed no fear of Bayantler's words.
In his view, the Living Buddha's condition was very serious this time, and he was on the verge of death.
It would be almost impossible for him to wake up; otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to be so bold as to openly disobey the Living Buddha before his passing.
"Regardless of the circumstances, even if the Living Buddha cannot wake up for the time being, my mission was personally entrusted to me by him. Therefore, it is my duty to protect Benefactor Jiang, the future master of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain!"
Chapter 679 The three of you, it seems you didn't ask for my opinion, did you?
"Sisangar, you'd better know better and leave with your people. You should know that you are no match for me. Even with them, you still can't beat me. Of the Four Dharma Kings, you are the youngest and the weakest!"
Bayantler stood in front of Jiang Bai and spoke coldly, without taking the initiative.
Although he had conflicts with Sissanger, the conflicts mainly focused on Jiang Bai. He originally agreed with Sangena's succession.
Because Sangena was indeed the strongest and most capable of the four, and had held power for many years; none of them could compare to him.
The Living Buddha had also clearly stated Sangena's right of succession.
Since he was appointed by the Living Buddha, he naturally wouldn't have any conflicts with the next master of Lingjiu Palace.
However, everything changed after Jiang Bai appeared.
But no matter how things change, one fact remains unchanged: they are all Dharma Kings of the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain, and they are all one of us.
Bayantler would absolutely not want to fight to the death unless absolutely necessary.
More importantly, he understood perfectly well that Sisangar was nothing more than a dog of King Sanghna, and the master had no reason not to know that the dog had run out to bite people.
He was confident that he could defeat Sissanger.
But if you add Sangener, things might change.
"What if I were included?"
Suddenly, a gloomy voice appeared again, and a lama who was a little older than Bayantele walked out from the dark corner. He was around seventy years old, thin as a rake, and had gloomy eyes.
What's most striking is that his eyebrows droop down to the corners of his eyes, making him look extremely peculiar.
Those who know him know him as Sangna, the head of the four Dharma Kings of Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain. If you didn't know him, you might mistake him for the Long-Browed Taoist. However, the Long-Browed Taoist is much fairer than him.
I don't know if it's due to ethnic characteristics or living environment, but there are very few white people in Tibet. They are either shiny black or purplish red.
Anyway, I'm different from most people.
"Sangnar!"
When Bayantler saw the other party, his expression changed drastically, and he said nervously, subconsciously preparing for battle.
This shows how much pressure Sangener put on him.
"Are you really going to betray the Living Buddha?"
Bayantler looked at Sangena warily, somewhat nervous. At this moment, he had completely forgotten that Jiang Bai behind him was not someone to be trifled with either.
Jiang Bai is a true top expert, cultivating the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill" and possessing super regeneration abilities, as well as various unique skills. His strength is no less than his.
"It's not a betrayal. The Living Buddha is old and his heart has softened. He actually listened to you and allowed a Han Chinese to take over Lingjiu Palace!"
"You must understand, our Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace has been entirely composed of Tibetans since the first patriarch. We are the Great Snow Mountain Lingjiu Palace of Tibet, not anyone else's. How can a Han Chinese lead us?"
"If the Living Buddha had chosen another disciple, I would have obeyed without question. But he brought this Han Chinese boy over just because of a few words between you and Yang Wudi, and made him take over as the master of Lingjiu Palace! He completely ignored everything I have done for Lingjiu Palace over the decades."
"Tell me, if you were me, would you agree?"
"The Living Buddha is old and senile, but I am not senile! Therefore, I must correct the Living Buddha's mistake in this matter!"
"There are many ways to obtain the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, not just what you said. We have no need to grovel before a Han Chinese boy!"
"Bayantel, if you turn back now, it's not too late. As long as you give him up, you will still be one of our four Dharma Kings, and you can enjoy the same status as before in the future. I guarantee that I will not hold you accountable for your past actions!"
"We, the Great Snow Mountain, have plenty of ways to make this Han Chinese boy willingly hand over the 'Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill' and restore its lineage!"
Sangena said in a deep voice.
They said the Living Buddha was old. Jiang Bai didn't think he was young either. What an old geezer who dared to mock others for being old?
To say that the Living Buddha is senile?
Isn't he the one who's truly senile?
Do you think you're someone to be trifled with?
"Sisanger, Sangna, I will not compromise. Even if I die here today, I will protect the safety of Benefactor Jiang. He is the person appointed by the Living Buddha, and he will be the next master of Lingjiu Palace. What you are doing will not end well!"
Bayantler stepped in front of Jiang Bai and said in a deep voice.
"Then you should prepare to die. Of course... soon, this Han boy will be going down to join you, but only after he has revealed the entire technique of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill."
Sisanger chuckled and said dismissively.
Whether it was intentional or not, the three of them didn't take Jiang Bai seriously from beginning to end.
Bayantler could be said to have forgotten due to nervousness, while the other two were not nervous at all.
They just don't believe it. True masters can't tell someone's cultivation level without fighting them. They mostly judge an opponent's strength by feeling and aura.
Even the most skilled individuals, no matter how well they conceal themselves, will still possess an aura that is different from that of ordinary people, accumulated over many years.
However, such judgments are easily wrong, just like Jiang Bai, who has no aura at all, or rather, he does, but outsiders just can't see it.
But his strength is undeniable.
However, Sisanger and his group did not believe this, because it had not been verified.
Unlike Bayantle, who dealt with external affairs and whose whereabouts were still somewhat known, Sanghna and Sisanger, though also among the Dharma Kings, lived in these mountains year after year.
Since losing the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill," the Lingjiu Palace in the Great Snow Mountain has basically remained secluded from the world. Not to mention Jiang Bai, they don't know much about the outside world either.
Everything done is based on common sense, so it's easy to make mistakes.
In their common sense, the information Yang Wudi gave was utter nonsense, merely a measure to protect Jiang Bai.
Since its inception, no one has ever reached the seventh level of the "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill" in their twenties; in their eyes, it was simply a pipe dream.
Yang Wudi's claim that Jiang Bai was unkillable was, in their eyes, utter nonsense.
Most importantly, they have always been very self-important, believing themselves to be among the most talented and not believing that anyone in their twenties can rival them.
Therefore, in their minds, this whole thing was just a hoax from beginning to end. The Living Buddha was fooled, and everything was fabricated by Bayantele in collusion with others.
That's why they stood up after the Living Buddha fell ill and targeted Jiang Bai.
They didn't take Jiang Bai seriously at all.
"Um, you three, it seems you didn't ask for my opinion, did you?"
When the three were facing off, Jiang Bai finally couldn't hold back any longer and stepped forward, raising one hand and saying something noncommittal.
