White Island was a private beach resort, and it was obvious at first glance that it was not meant for ordinary people.
No public boats docked here. No ferries arrived on schedule. The only way to reach the island was by private boat or helicopter—and both options were strictly controlled. Casual visitors had no way of coming here, even if they wanted to.
Calling it a "tourist destination" felt like an exaggeration.
Only a small number of people could afford to vacation on White Island, let alone stay overnight. The island sat quietly in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by endless blue water on all sides, far away from crowded cities and noise.
A few buildings dotted the island, but most of them were private rest houses owned by wealthy families and powerful figures. There was only one hotel on the entire island, reserved for invited guests and short-term visitors.
